About this Cook
I love to explore new recipes daily rather than cooking the same way twice! I get my inspiration from food bloggers and other websites, and have discovered creative ways to use what I have on hand to make creative and delicious meals.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook meets especially lamb or beef in the slow cooker. I prefer roasting my vegetables (especially root veggies) if not enjoying them raw in a salad. I prefer chicken thighs to breasts since they come out nice and juicy. I also love making homemade soups especially vegetable or creamy potato.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Monkey bread on Christmas morning French onion soup Christmas Eve or on a cold evening Started a new tradition of fondue for special events (Christmas Eve, New Years, Anniversary) Strawberry Pie for Summer events
My cooking triumphs
Lamb shoulder in the slow cooker Roast pork tenderloin Veal Marsala with mushrooms Roast Asian chicken thighs Cheesy potato soup Mustard glazed salmon Roasted veggies with quinoa or couscous Different types of risotto especially mushroom and butternut squash
My cooking tragedies
I have difficulty with cooking chilean sea bass and cod recipes. I don't always get the consistency right, either too dry or too mushy, so I usually stick with salmon or flounder.

No Roll Pie Crust II
WOW! This was the first time I ever made a real pie or any crust for a pie. I am SO GLAD that I read the reviews and followed their instructions. My pumpkin pie got rave reviews from my husband who is a pastry chef and he loved the crust. GO FIGURE!! I even accidently cooked the pie crust before adding the pumpkin in and cooking it. Thanks to a friend's pie shield, I was able to cook the crust for almost 40min and it didn't burn!! This is now my go to recipe for future baked pie crusts:)
