Ham and Split Pea Soup Recipe - A Great Soup
Just made this tonight with the help of my 12 year old daughter as sous chef. I used Yellow split peas instead of green as the sous chef does not like green soup. Turned out excellent. I encourage you to watch the accompanying video for tips on sweating the vegetables and seasoning tips. As Chef John advises watch the Salt! I didn;t add any and for me it was excellent. Will depend on the ham you use and its salt content. Also The yellow split peas seemed to take about an hour longer to break down than indicated in the recipe. Everything else I did the same. Very easy to do with minimal prep. I will be saving this one and will make again. Loved it! Very hearty and flavourful soup indeed! Thank you very much Chef John!

Marie's Easy Slow Cooker Pot Roast
Very Good! I used beef broth as some others have recommended as well as adding 3 or 4 whole garlic cloves to the broth. Did not add my veggies until about half way through cook time and they came out perfect with very nice flavour. The beef broth I'm sure would make an excellent gravy though this time around I just used the sauce to moisten the meat and Veggies. I will make this agian. Thank you Marie for sharing this very good and easy recipe!

Flatlander Chili
This is It! After trying several different recipes I've found my go to chili! Made a few slight changes but pretty much prepared as written here. Added a can of mushrooms and 4 cloves of Garlic. Used ground beef as well as some leftover roast I had. Used twice as much green pepper as called for and a little more tomatoe sauce. Adjust to what you like but if your not adventorous make as directed and you will not be disapointed. I found it to be medium spicy so watch the cayene pepper! You can always add more later.
