Phoenician's Key Lime Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2013
This is a delicious pie and it bakes out well. It's texture is very creamy; the heavy cream is probably why. However, even though it is delicious, bakes well and is easy to prepare, I prefer a more dense (or thick) key lime pie with more key lime taste. It could be that by using the heavy cream, it dilutes the key lime flavor. Once again it is a good pie; just not my favorite. - Linda O.

Foolproof Rib Roast

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2013
If there were more stars I would give them to this recipe! I can't say enough wonderful things about this prime rib. It is so easy and, having made it a few times, It is foolproof. I followed the cooking instructions EXACTLY and believe this is the secret to cooking it right. I did cheat a little and added a teaspoon of dried thyme. Wow!!! It just doesn't get any better than this! - Linda O.

Tuscan Flank Steak

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2013
I made this recipe with no changes. I don't know if it was the flank steak I purchased or what, but it was so tough we couldn't chew it, and no I did not over cook it. Maybe it would work better with a different cut of beef, but I also found it just was not very flavorful and I marinated it for 8 hours.

Glazed Lemon Supreme Pound Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2013
This cake is to die for. Easy preparation. It works well in a bundt pan also. It is soooo very lemoney (if that is a word) and very moist. Eveyone I have served this to is crazy about it! I have made it several rimes and it comes out the same every time. I do add about a teaspoon of lemon zest because I am such a lemon lover. Once I was out of apricot nector and substituted mango nectar and the recipe worked just as well with no noticible change in taste. Watch your baking time and check it at about the 50 minute mark as due to your oven it may not take the full hour to bake and it would be a shame to over bake this wonderful cake. To whoever submitted this recipe, THANKS! - Linda O.

Pecan Sour Cream Pound Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2013
The cake baked out ok but it is very bland. It has a good texture, but I have baked much better flavored pound cakes. This cake would be better if served as strawberry shortcake or in an English trifle. I did cut down on the sugar to two cups. I believe it would have been way too sweet with 3 cups and that would not have made it any less bland.
