About this Cook
I am a Waldorf school class teacher, meaning I follow my students from grades 1-8. It is a demanding and challenging job, especially since I am also leading several committees and assist with the governing of the school, but I love every minute of it.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook anything when I have time. Weekend mornings, when no one else is yet awake, is my favorite time to cook. I also enjoy cooking dinner when my family in in the living room, right next to me, so we can chat while cooking (also great when entertaining!).
My favorite family cooking traditions
Holidays and Sundays means Italian food to me. We always had pasta on Sundays when I was growing up, and I mostly continue this tradition. I also love baking cookies and making lasagna at Christmas (and any other holiday my mother is up for it as well!). My mom is a fabulous cook, so whatever she makes is wonderful to eat!
My cooking triumphs
Putting together a dinner party for 15 of my dear friends. I was on my feet for hours, but I felt a part of it all (love our open kitchen/dining area/living room!).
My cooking tragedies
Burning kale while trying to make kale chips. Ugh, hate to waste kale--so precious and the chips are way too expensive to buy! Plus they taste great when you make them fresh and devour them right away!

Cabbage and Kielbasa
I've made this recipe many times, using different types of sausage--it's always delicious!

Wonderful! My family and I enjoyed it. I followed others' advice to saute the cabbage and the leeks--and I cooked the potatoes in the microwave--all still turned out well.
