This recipe is fantastic. I was actually threatened by my boyfriend that if I ever made any other kind of macaroni & cheese, he'd kill me! Haha! I, too, felt like there was too much cheese action before I put the dish in the oven... but it comes out PERFECT after. My dish was a double-batch. I used two 8-ounce bags of Kraft shredded cheese, one sharp cheddar and one medium cheddar, instead of the American cheese. I think next time I'll take the foil off toward the end of the bake time to get a nice golden-brown color for the bread crumbs. EXCELLENT recipe.
