About this Cook
I work in corporate accounting, which is very boring, so I like to express myself with my cooking. Although I fall into the occasional rut, I like to find new recipes to try and new cooking methods. I make an amazing lasagna but it is hard to put it in recipe form since it is all done by feel, taste testing and guesstimating.
My favorite things to cook
Anything grilled, my lasagna and comfort foods.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I make my lasagna for special occasions and always make a large pan so I can send leftovers home with my guests.
My cooking triumphs
I finally upgraded our 20+ year old cookware to some Calphalon tri-ply and I love it. I have also gained the confidence to cook more seafood and I am slowly becoming a fan of the types of food I formerly detested.
My cooking tragedies
Too many to list but the one that stands out the most is the sausage gravy I attempted and it turned out like cement. I then left it unattended on the stove and ended up throwing the whole pan out.

Whole Wheat Banana Nut Bread
I followed the tips from some of the other reviewers and substituted sugar free applesauce for the oil and mixed half whole wheat with regular flour. Turned out moist and the texture was perfect.

Mom's Fabulous Chicken Pot Pie with Biscuit Crust
Loved this recipe and it made enough for leftovers for work. I upped the spices a little bit since it seemed a little bland before I put the biscuits on top but otherwise followed the recipe and it was easy to put together.

Heather's Grilled Salmon
My wife and I are newly minted empty nesters and are always up to trying new foods and recipes and this one was awesome. We followed the directions exactly and it turned out moist and delicious. We will definitely keep this one in the rotation of meals.
