Candied Yams

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2012
This was delish! I took the advice of other reviewers and backed off the sugar, doubled the recipe, added nutmeg & cinnamon and I too added a little cinnamon sugar. Next time I'll cut back some on the butter, as I think that could be reduced some. I also drained the canned yams, rinsed them with water, sliced them some then baked with the top on for about 25 minutes. I added the marshmellows last with the top removed and broiled them for a couple of minutes. Turned out perfect! A huge hit in my house and will be my staple dish for Thanksgiving.

B and L's Strawberry Smoothie

Reviewed: May 3, 2012
I combined this recipe with the strawberry oatmeal smoothie recipe from this website. For 1 serving, I used 5 frozen strawberries, 1/2 banana, 1/2 cup almond milk, 1/2 cup silken tofu, 1 teaspoon of vanilla, 1 tsp sugar and 1/4 cup of oatmeal blended finely in the food processor. No ice needed as the frozen strawberries, cold milk & tofu do the trick. Thick, creamy, filling and delish! Paired that with one or two pieces of butterball turkey bacon. Little to no calories or one piece of butterball turkey sausage. YUM!!!!

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2012
OMG! Made this last night and my husband had three servings. Delish! Followed the recipe to a tee, bought frozen peas & carrots, baked my whole chicken the night before using the Roast Sticky Chicken Rotisserie Style recipe from this site, used pillsbury pie crust, added some red potatoes, did all my prepping one day early. Used 1% milk which thickened wonderfully and doubled the liquid portion based on other reviews. Dinner was served in no time. We plan to keep these ingredients on hand as this will definitely go into our dinner rotatation as one of our favorites.

Homemade Chewy Granola Bars

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2011
I NEVER rate recipes, but had to do my review. These are absolutely wonderful and extremely addicting. I have made these three times following the advice from previous reviews. 1/3 cup of brown sugar, applesauce for sure in the place of butter, 1/3 cup of chocolate chips (plenty sweet) and 1/3 cup of honey verses corn syrup. I bake mine for about 17 minutes. They feel a little soft when straight out of the oven. Once cooled they are perfect. No crumbling, just enough sweetness and the peanut butter makes it divine. I also added some chopped walnuts and raisins. This recipe rocks! A staple in our home.
