My favorite family cooking traditions
My family made froice for breakfast when I growing up, which is really just a fancy name for crepes. We put cinnamon and powdered sugar on them and would always fight over the powdered sugar shaker. After moving out, my mom wrote us each out the recipe on a recipe card and bought us a powdered sugar shaker and a bag of powdered sugar. Still a favorite when we visit home!

Learning what flavors go well together and which ones don't - out of the food I usually have on hand.
My cooking tragedies
Thinking canned corn would taste good with wasabi powder. Boiling pots of water dry. Some other bad combinations I'd rather forget.
