Rhubarb Pudding Cake
About this Cook
My Mom has had me in the kitchen since I was 8. I'm much more experimental than she is, so I've taken a lot of our family recipes and modified them, but in a good way. I love making comfort foods and desserts.
My favorite things to cook
My great-grandma's turkey casserole.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every christmas I would make cookies with my mom. Now that I live away from home, we split the duties - planning what to make and whose going to make what. Our traditional Christmas dinner is ground beef barbeque - something easy and mild since we've been snacking on candy & cookies all day. My Mom & I still make it together on Christmas Eve.
My cooking triumphs
Hmm, most things come out great, so.....
My cooking tragedies
Make a really good chocolate pie - had a layer of chocolate in the bottom of the pie crust and then a mousse filling. The second time I went to make it was for a get together with my boyfriend and our close friends. I didn't have the right kind of chocolate so I tried to substitute and add sugar - yeah, didn't work out too well.

Rhubarb Pudding Cake
I have made this cake several times and it's always a hit! The only issue I had is that I've had to use a larger baking dish (or less cake mix - bake separately and use extra pudding sauce to drizzle) and check carefully to make sure the center of the cake is done. One trick I use for turning it out is to bake it in a 9" deep sided pie dish and use a fancier pie plate with a larger circumference for serving.
