About this Cook
Hi guys! I discovered Allrecipes about 2 years ago, and I cannot tell you how much it has helped me with my cooking. I love reading the blogs and reviews on recipes, as well as seeing what new creations people come up with. I like to grow as much of my own food as I can, so I'm often in the garden. When cooking I like to try and stick to my Pa Dutch roots, making recipes that have been handed down through my family.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook are my mom's home cooked dishes, like German Potato soup, and Chicken w/ Onion rings.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every year we make my Grammys' sugar cookies, for Christmas. They are the best! So thin and crispy.
My cooking triumphs
My biggest Triumph was making 'Beer braised Irish stew with Colcannnon', it is a slow cooker recipes I found on this site and it was a huge hit with my family.
My cooking tragedies
Attempting to cook Scrapple, and completely burning it (were talking burnt to the pan, and smoking) also, when I was a vegetarian I tried to make a Key Lime pie with tofu, no great! It was more like lime soup in pie crust. It was an epic fail!
