Flip Flop Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2003
I would not have thought of the beer & butter combination, but my boyfriend loves anything cooked in beer. I also added a clove of garlic. It has been my experience that 30 minutes is way too long to cook chicken over a good grill. I cut the cooking time to 10 minutes, and that was too long, (I pounded the chicken breasts pretty thin.) I will try this again cooking for maybe 7 minutes total.

Absolutely The Best Shrimp Scampi

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2004
I made this recipe without reading the other reviews (big mistake), I ended up adding more wine and a little chicken broth to make more sauce. I think there is too much flour in this recipe, and the sauce seemed kind of bland.

Cranberry Relish I

This recipe ROCKS! The oranges I had were HUGE so I only used a half of one, and I added Apriocot Brandy along with the preserves...yummy!

Easy Deviled Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2005
WE LOVED IT! I used bone in breasts, and used 1/4 cup mayo with 1/4 cup sour cream and they turned out perfectly. Next time I'll add a little more mustard

Chewy Coconut Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2005
I read couple of reviews that thought it needed less butter and was nothing special, BUT OUR FAMILY LOVED THEM! I didn't change a thing in this recipe, but I did melt some semi sweet chips (1/2 C) and drizzled lines of chocolate across them once they had cooled, they looked and tasted like they came from a bakery!

Super Simple Oven Barbequed Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2005
I used Chipolte Chili Powder instead of the regular chili powder, it was very moist and tasty, though I would recommend to anyone baking chicken, to buy a meat thermometer, the digital ones are easy to use and cook it until it reaches 185, in my oven it was 20 min less time than listed

Good Burger

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2005
I used 1/2 the sugar and more cajun seasoning and the burgers were still way too sweet, I couldn't finish the hamburger either, but I can tell you my 4 year old LOVED IT, but then again he likes raisins on his hotdogs!

Porcupines

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2005
My husband loves this dish and so do the kids! So tasty! These are also good served with warm bread for a hearty fulfilling meal. I did substitute onion powder for the chopped onion (picky kids) and it turned out perfectly.

Bobbie's Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2005
This is a pretty good recipe, but please don't try crisco or margarine in this recipe, it may turn out okay but butter will make it taste rich...butter is essential in baking! I think it calls for too much oats so I used 2 1/4 cups, and will cut it to 2 C next time for a chewier cookie.

Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2005
DELICIOUS! This is simple perfection! I have no idea why people add soda to this recipe, without flour to keep the soda in "check" the cookie will run all over the sheet, adding salt is silly because your PB has tons of sodium in it. I did add a tsp of vanilla though...YUMMY, the whole family loved them.

Meatball Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2005
My husband calls this soup...liquid pizza! One of the few recipes for soup that my entire family loves! It is better if you have your own recipe for meatballs. Just drop them into the water/tomato mixture it will be perfect. I also used more garlic and italian seasonings than called for.

McCormick's Delicious Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2005
I liked these, but I had to add 2 tbsp of Sweet Relish to them, the sweet, vinegary taste of the relish made these better, otherwise they were a little on the bland side.

Coffee Roasted Beef Chuck

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2005
This was a pretty good recipe, I added beef broth instead of the boullion cubes others had suggested, and I used some rosemary, thyme and a little oregano too (1 tsp ea) you don't have to like coffee to appreciate this recipe, there is no "coffee" flavor, I just think it makes the juices and gravy a little richer.

I would give this 10 stars if I could. It is the best French Toast I have ever tasted. We used Smuckers Raspberry Syrup on the side to dip. It was HEAVENLY!

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2005
This is a good recipe especially if you aren't keen on using Royal Icing which contains uncooked egg whites, not an option for me since I have a toddler. You will have to change the amount of milk, I added a tsp at a time until it looked right, I also doubled the amount of corn syrup called for.

I loved this recipe and didn't change a thing. Next time I may top with a meringue, but whipped cream works too!

Sweet and Sour Kielbasa

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2006
I would give this 5 stars if it didn't say "crockpot", if you are gonna make this in 30 minutes (one hour is better), use a dutch oven or big skillet, cover, put it on low (not simmer) and you will be in kielbasa heaven, in an hour! I serve this with buttered noodles or rice. If you are using a slow cooker, do it in the morning, put it on low, it will be perfect in 5-6 hrs!

Buttercream Icing

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2006
I was disappointed in the taste of this icing, it tastes "store-bought", the texture was great though, so I gave it 3 stars. I will go back to using only butter.
