Banana Nut Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2008
Well, this recipe didn't live up to my expectations after reading the reviews. To me it was just okay, I followed the recipe as written, and I thought it 1, needed more nuts, 2, wasn't banana-ish enough for my taste, just kinda boring, I gave it three stars because it is really simple and quick to make!

Lobster Tails Steamed in Beer

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2008
These turned out fantastic! They will curl up as they steam, so for the sake of presentation, you might like to run a wooden skewer through the length of each tail. Other than that, it was lobster perfection in 8 minutes!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2008
READ SARA B.'S review from March 7th, with her modifications to the recipe, it is really good, we also added sage (1 tsp), and 1 tsp crushed rosemary, I think it would be really bland without the changes!

BBQ Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2008
The perfect thing about this recipe, is that you can add (or not) anything to suit your taste, and it will still taste great. We've added dozens of different spices on different occasions, and we haven't been disappointed yet. I do double the recipe tho, as we like a lot of sauce.

Chicken Nuggets

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2008
These are easy, delicious, and a hit with my picky kids! We used melted "Smart Balance" instead of butter, but other than that we changed nothing! This recipe is my four year olds' favorite meal!

Buttermilk Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2008
This recipe worked great, our kids made this by themselves, and the cookies were amazingly delicious! We didn't have Bisquick, so my son used buttermilk pancake mix instead! VERY TASTY

Herb Rubbed Sirloin Tip Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2007
I am confused by some of the negative reviews, we didn't think the rub was too salty or spicy in relation to the meat, we thought it was a perfect combination and we are not spicy food eaters! As a leftover, my husband loves this sliced thin and served cold on bread. I do recommend just using a meat thermometer to check for doneness (140-150 deg.) for medium, as the hour wasn't long enough to reach 145, all ovens are different!

Pumpkin Pie Squares

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2007
I would have given this recipe 5 stars, but there isn't enough crust as written, I doubled the crust the second time I made it, and it was MUCH better and a lot easier to serve. Great with some whipped cream and cinnamon sprinkled on top. I will be making this through Christmas!

Cheesy Potato Soup II

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2007
I usually only leave reviews on really good recipes or really bad ones, this one is AWESOME, I've made it several times, it is much better with broth instead of water, also use at least 2% milk (whole milk/or half and half makes it creamier), just know you have to check your diet at the door!

Tea Biscuits

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2007
The lge. amount of baking powder gives them a flavor I wouldn't like if they were just served with butter BUT...This is the perfect biscuit for anything savory like a gravy, or anything super sweet, like a jam or honey. I served these with pumpkin and apple butter, and they were gone in 5 minutes. DELICIOUS! Also, I made the dough in my food processor, so it was SUPER fast, and easy.

Southern Candied Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2007
Thank you Pam for submitting this recipe, it is as close to what I remember my great grandmother making, it is absolutely delicious, I did use brown sugar instead of white, but I am sure it is great either way. Finally a recipe without marshmallows and nuts! YUMMY!

Savory Grilled Potatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2007
well, this recipe is just awesome, I had to replace the onion with 1 tsp of onion powder, because no one at my house likes onions in their potatoes, I cooked these for 45 min, they were perfect, I think 30 min. wouldn't have been enough time to get them just right.

I followed others advice and tried it with low-fat cream soups and light (not fat free) sour cream, and it was a HUGE hit! This one was a kid pleaser in my house!

Garlic Fried Rice

I would have given this recipe 5 stars, but I had to add more butter (1 Tbs), and a little more garlic, I also added a teaspoon of sesame oil, and I had no leftovers at all!

Bacon Wrapped Pork Chops

My husband LOVED this dish, and I liked too, tho I was skeptical at first because of it's simplicity, it is a perfect dish for anyone who loves a tender porkchop!

Baked Tilapia in Garlic and Olive Oil

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2007
You really gotta like garlic and onion more than fish to like this recipe, I didn't get the bland thing most talked about, all I tasted was garlic & onion. The Broiled Tilipia Parmesan from Phoebe on this site is much better than this recipe, I gave it three stars because my hubby liked it, but I will stick to the other recipe from now on!

Grilled Ham Steak

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2007
I didn't change a thing about this recipe, and it was perfect. I would suggest to others not to have your grill too hot, as the sugar in the glaze will burn easily. Thanks for an easy delicious recipe!
