Italian Bread Bowls

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2004
This was my first attempt at making a bread bowl. I read all the reviews and decided I would make 1/2 inverted over pyrex dishes and 1/2 the way the recipe said. They all turned out good. I did add about 1 tsp. of sugar thinking it might help them rise higher. I don't know if that worked, but these were delicious! The bread is delicious even on it's own. I served chili in them and even my kids kept saying "Mom, these are really good!" Great recipe I will use often.

Exquisite Pizza Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2004
Made this last night with the Bread Machine Calzone and it was fabulous! This sauce is definitely on the sweet side which is what we like but if you like spicy don't add the honey.I will be making this often.

Bread Machine Calzone

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2004
Made this last night for dinner. The dough when it came out of my machine was extremely sticky. I bet I almost added an extra cup of flour. I'm going to make this again today to see if it was just user error. That being said this was DELICIOUS!!! I made four individual calzones with pepperoni, sausage and onion along with "exquisite pizza sauce" from this site and everybody just kept saying this is SO good. Will definitely make again and again and again. Saved some of the pizza sauce for dipping and it was great.

Candied Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2004
Had this last night for dinner and everyone enjoyed it very much. I thought it was maybe just a tad too sweet. I will make it again definitely but maybe cut back just a little on the sweet ings.

Aunt Millie's Broccoli Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2004
Had this last night for dinner and it was very good. I too used Cheddar cheese instead of American and I also added just a touch of milk. I used Marie Callendar's seasoned croutons (which I crushed)as the topping. Very tasty

Beer Butt Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2004
This is an amazing Chicken dish. I usually only cook parts but decided to give this a try. I followed another reviewers advice and used the spices from Texas Pork Ribs. I coated the chicken with it and then put about 2 tablespoons in the can with 1/2 C Butter. I had it last night and that's all I've been able to think about today. I truly have never had such a tender, juicy and moist chicken. I cooked two 4 lb chickens for 10 people and there was nothing left over.

Yellow Squash Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2004
This was really excellent! Unlike other reviews I didn't have a problem with it being soggy. Everyone really enjoyed it even those who weren't crazy about squash.

Mom's Chicken Cacciatore

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2003
This was really fantastic! The only change I made was that I used skinless chicken breasts and a cabernet instead of white wine. This will most likely end up on my weekly rotation!!! Thanks for a great recipe!

These were so good! Loved the corn with the potatoes. The kids really liked them even with the green chilies.

Southwestern Egg Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2003
This was really excellent! I took another reviewers suggestion and baked at 400 for about 15-20 minutes. I also sprayed them with butter flavored cooking spray. Nice and crispy. I just wonder how egg roll wrappers would be if baked?

Very Easy Risotto

This was extremely easy and wonderful! I really enjoy risotto but rarely have the time to fix it. This is just as good and will now be a staple in our household.

Burgundy Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2003
This was a very good recipe. Very easy and loved by my whole family. I strained the sauce (my kids aren't great lovers of onions). Had plenty of sauce for the gravy.

Bananas Foster II

Excellent recipe. My 15 year old daughter requested "Bananas Foster" and in 20 minutes she was eating it. I'm not sure who loved it more her or her father! If you have bananas you're there!!

Italian Butter

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2003
Very good. It was a little spicy. I'm not sure if it's the red pepper flakes or all the black pepper. Really good. I didn't have a spice grinder so maybe that would have helped to incorporate the pepper flakes better.

French Bread Rolls to Die For

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2003
Really good recipe! The taste of the bread was very good. I'm still having trouble with shaping. I served them with slow cooker french dip from this recipe and they tasted wonderful. But none of the rolls were the same size or very pretty to look at. I'd welcome any suggestions!

Cream Puff Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2003
Really good. I've never made cream puffs before. I guess I've been too intimidated. But the puff turned out wonderful. I thought I'd make this extra special by using "Bird's Custard" which is a cooked custard and although it was good I think it would have been equally as good had I just used instant "french vanilla". Will try that next time.
