Famous Meatballs

Reviewed: May 16, 2012
SOOO good! I love that this recipes gets its "tang" from the pineapple and lemon rather than vinegar. So easy too! Just what I was looking for! It would be good with chicken as well. I also used freeze dried green peppers from my home grocery store so I am ready to make this meal anytime with simple ingredients I always have!

Garden Fresh Tomato Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2010
I really don't like tomato soup. I was craving it one day while pregnant and tried this. I am hooked! It is soo good and so different. It was really yummy. I didn't even use the food mill or anything. I just ate it a little bit chunky and it was fine!

Black Bean and Rice Enchiladas

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2009
I loved this recipe! I skimmped a little on the spicey stuff because I have small children. I would call them burritos rather than enchiladas but they were deeeee-lish. I can't wait for lunch tomorrow to eat them again!

mmmmm! Just had to add a little more milk in the end to acheive the texture I like. We did not let it sit for the hour either. mmmmmm!

Colossal Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2004
Wow! This is such a great recipe. My husband watched me make them and said, "Oh gross! They have too much stuff. They are going to be disgusting." Well...we both LOVE them! I wonder if some people did not look at the peanut butter close enough. My jar was 18 oz. I scooped some off the top and guessed about 16 oz. If I had put the whole thing in, I think they would have spread all over. I also stick the bowl in the fridge inbetween panfulls. They are very good cookies.

Round Steak Sauerbraten

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2004
I too put it in a crock pot. Cooked meat first then threw it all in the crock for four hours. It was sooo good! I related the taste to the taste of beef jerky. We ate it over rice. Very good! Thanks!!!

We loved this recipe! I used ground beef and pinto beans to suit our tastes. It was great! I used the leftovers the next day to dip tortilla chips in. I used 1/2 cheddar cheese and 1/2 pepper jack cheese. It was wonderful!!!

Chicken and Dumplings III

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2003
I used chicken breasts because I don't like dark meat. I thought this sounded a little bland, but my family loved it! I was quite impressed myself. I had some left over Campbell's chicken noodle ABC soup from lunch so I added water to that and boiled my chicken with it and it was fabulous!!! My boys didn't even notice the few letters that were mixed in. I will make this again. Thanks! I am updating this review. We have made this a whole bunch of times. I now add the dumplings to the water and boil for a few minutes while I cut up the chicken. Then I add the soups and chicken. This way the dumplings are fluffier and not as dense as when I added them with the soup.

Six Can Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2003
I love food with a Mexican flavor but my husband does not! I was very excited to try this because it sounded good and looked so easy. Everyone loved it, my husband AND three picky little boys. We ate all of it. That rarely happens with a recipe. The boys thought it was fun to smash tortilla chips into their bowl, or scoop it with a chip rather than a spoon. We will eat this regularly.

Finnish Kropser (Baked Pancakes)

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2003
I am so glad I found this recipe. I made something like this in home economics in Jr or Sr High school. It had been AGES since I have even thought of them. I came across this recipe and could almost taste them as I read the directions. They are so yummy I remembered them from that long ago. Great recipe! Fun breakfast to experience rather than the usual cereal, pancakes, etc. My boys all turned their nose to it. I made them taste it and they love it too!

Italian Meatball Sandwich Casserole

Reviewed: May 17, 2003
Made this for dinner and my in-laws stopped by. I was so proud I had a beautiful meal prepared that we could share with them. It was sooo good. I sliced the bread and toasted it a little. I arranged them on the bottom very close to each other. I smeared the cream cheese stuff completely over the top edge to edge. They were not soggy at all. Otherwise I followed the recipe exactly water and all. We will make this again!

Sweet and Sour Sauce I

Reviewed: May 17, 2003
I make this all the time and have passed the recipe around to many. I have followed all the suggestions left by others at different times and no matter what I have done to this recipe, it turns out great! We put chicken in it, or ground beef, or meatballs and serve it over rice. I have added veggies also. You can't go wrong. It is wonderful!
