I am happily married with four small children ages 5-11. I love to cook and sew. I have recently started college and love finding new recipes to give my family healthy meals that are quick and easy to prepare. I like teaching my children new ways to make foods. It is always fun watching them create new dishes with interesting twists. I hope to instill good eating habits in them.
My favorite things to cook
I love baking new desserts for my kids. I absolutely love to bake new dishes and some traditional dishes for my entire extended family. My family relies on me to give them tasty recipes for gatherings. I am frequently found cooking for family members and trying new recipes on friends and family.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I have each person in our family choose one day a week to help out in the kitchen to make dinner. I end up just supervising. It helps me to spend one on one time with everybody and teaches all our kids responsibility. They appreciate what I have to do to put good meals on the tables. now each child has specialties that the family will request.
My cooking triumphs
My daughter decided to have a movie night party and requested that I make a tub of popcorn for her cake. 6 layers later we had a lemon cheesecake-flavored cake that everyone is still talking about.
My cooking tragedies
Too tragic to publicize! I don't even want to think about it. LOL! Well the worst thing I have ever produced in my kitchen would have to be spaghetti and meatballs. The family has unanimously agreed that that meal is left to my 7 year old son who makes the absolute best meatballs! He created the recipe when he was 5 and it has been popular since.
