Margie's Sour Cream Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2012
I followed the recipe as instructed, only substituting thyme for the summer savory. I have to say, it was mediocre. The sauce was very runny. And I don't know what it is, but I can NOT get pork chops to be tender. That is why I tried this recipe. But they were still somewhat tough. Oh well, they did have a nice flavor, and my husband seemed to enjoy them.

Chicken Pot Pie IV

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2011
I changed this recipe up quite a bit, that is why I gave it only 4 stars. My hubby said it was definitely one of his favorites. Using refrigerated pie crusts, I filled the inside with fresh broccoli (steamed), grated carrots, steamed chunks of sweet potato (basically cooked in the microwave w/ water until soft),corn, onion, garlic, and cooked turkey breast I had marinated in s&p, broth & worchestershire sauce. I then had a can of cream of chicken AND cream of onion, and about a 1/2 cup of milk. Poured it all into the pie crust that I flash baked for 10 min, at 350 degrees. I had extra filling so I froze that and will use it again another day. This turned out really flavorful and rich. Since the soups were not diluted, they were almost TOO strong. But the taste test came out great!! Definitely something I will make again. PS I didn't add any cheese and you would not miss the cheese at ALL!!!!

Aussie Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2011
I made this recipe eliminating the corn syrup, using store bought honey mustard instead of the yellow mustard and honey combo, and adding a dash of dijon mustard. We didn't have colby-jack cheese, so we used a parmesan/mozzarella blend. This was a huge hit with my family! I highly recommend it! It was also easy to make, after you take the time to cook the bacon. I followed another comment and cooked everything in the same pan. Worked fantastically!

Almost Stuffed Peppers

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2011
I made the rice separately, as some others did, because we only had regular rice instead of instant. I didn't want it to be crunchy. While the rice was cooking, I made the rest in my wok. I didn't have canned diced tomatoes, so I used fresh tomatoes and added tomato paste. I only added water once I mixed the rice in, to make the tomato paste saucy enough to cover the rice. It ended up being really good! And still easy enough even if you do the rice separately.

Buffalo Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2011
I live in an area in Central America where condensed soups are not readily available. I was looking for a quick and easy casserole recipe using chicken and rice but no condensed soups, and came upon this one that fit the bill perfectly! I only used half of the recommended sour cream and cream cheeses, and used real garlic (chopped) and onions, and no dill or parsley. The flavor of this recipe is really good! My hubby loved it! I used Don Julios hot sauce and it was fantastic. Not TOO spicy but just enough kick. I will say the recipe was a bit dry, but maybe if I had used the full amounts of cream cheese and sour cream it would have been less dry. When we have reheated it for eating leftovers, I add a bit of milk and a spoon of cheese and it's just plain good! I will make this again!
