Chicken Vicious

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2004
I made a few changes to the basic recipe. I used LOTS of real garlic and added water chestnuts and broccoli. The only complaint is that it made too much sauce and I will decrease it next time. The heat is just right and the flavor is great!

Grilled Chicken Breasts with Zesty Peanut Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2004
I didn't make the sauce because the ingredients were not on hand, but the marinade was phenomenal. The chicken came out very tender and juicy and with a great flavor. I added more garlic and a little more cayenne, marinaded about 6 hours...YUM!

Crab and Lobster Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2003
I made these without the lobster and while they were good, my husband I agreed that they need more cheese. Perhaps next time I will change the proportions so there is less croutons.

Mandarin Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2003
Easy and delicious! I followed another reviewers advice and used chicken tenders instead of pounding chicken breasts. I also added garlic and sauteed it with the chicken and added extra cashews. Absolutely wonderful!!!

Crescent Pastry Puff

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2003
This was FABULOUS! Not only did it taste wonderful, it looked beautiful too! The only change I made was to add a little bit more of the cinnamon sugar mixture in with the apples. This will become a frequently made item in my household...thanks Heidi!

Garlic Lovers Beef

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2003
I was highly disappointed in this recipe. My husband and I are huge garlic fans and this recipe had no garlic flavor at all. I used 2 and 1/2 large heads of garlic. The meat was moist, but flavor was very lacking. We ate it and used the sauce with mashed potatoes.

Flank Steak a la Willyboy

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2003
Not really worth the great reviews. The flavoring it gave to my steak was rather bland and I marinated for over 24 hours. I will not be making this again.

The Whole Jar of Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2003
These cookies were good, but not spectacular. I think they taste much better 1-2 days after cooking.

Pineapple Enchiladas

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2003
I LOVED this! I am a very big fan of pineapple (especially when its in places you don't expect it) This recipe was just what I was looking for. I increased the amount of sour cream and used pineapple tidbits. The only other change I would recommend is removing the cover during the last 10 minutes or so of cooking so that the cheese browns up.

Apple Enchiladas

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2003
This were very tasty, but the tortillas got a little soggy. I will make them again, though. Great with vanilla ice cream!

Rhubarb Bread I

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2003
I am a big fan of quick breads and this one is excellent! I will be using a lot of my rhubarb making this recipe again and again. I ommitted the nuts (don't like them) but otherwise followed the recipe. I did not have a problem with the topping like other reviewers did...I think it is supposed to bake into the bread a little bit.

Baked Chicken Reuben

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2003
I think that this recipe is good but I liked the leftovers better. After we ate dinner I cut up the remaining chicken breasts into chunks and mixed it with the sauerkraut/cheese blend. The result was a chicken sauerkraut casserole which was incredible. The next time I make this I will make it this way first.

Cheesy Vegetable Chowder

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2003
I halved the recipe and used it as a base, adding my own vegetables. I used what I had on hand which was potatoes, onions, carrots, broccoli and cauliflower. It turned out very good and I plan on making it again.

Tomato Curry Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2003
This chicken is quite good. It came out very tender and the sauce was delicious. I used grated parmesan to top it but next time I think I will use a shredded parmesan/romano blend as suggested by other reviewers.

Hot Bean Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2003
Great appetizer! I halved the recipe and made it in a pie plate. This still made more than enough and turned out delicious.

Chicken Enchiladas I

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2003
These were very tasty...and good the next day. I boiled the chicken and then shredded it before making the filling instead of sauteeing. I also omitted the water as previous reviewers suggested and topped with enchilada sauce instead of taco sauce. When I brought the leftovers for lunch, everyone wanted to know what smelled so delicious!

Friday Night Veggie Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2003
Great flavor! I added only 8 cups of water and that was more than enough. Also, the frozen vegetables did get a little mushy while the potatoes and celery were perfect. I think next time I make this I will spend the time and cut up fresh vegetables.

Outback Onion Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2003
This soup is fabulous! I made it for Christmas Eve dinner and it was everyone's favorite course. I did have some difficulty when adding the flour, it formed clumped balls in my soup which I had to fish out...I think next time I will mix more water in with the flour. I will definitely make this recipe again.

Raspberry Truffle Fudge

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2003
This fudge is easy and delicious. I would recommend making it a few days in advance because the flavor improves immensely as it ages.
