Chocolate Pretzels

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2009
Made these twice over the Christmas season. Big hit. Made them with both Kisses and Hugs (I think the Hugs taste better) but the Hugs melt quicker than the kisses. Used regular sized M&Ms and waffle pretzels.

Roast Beef Horseradish Roll-Ups

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2008
Not an entirely fair review because I didn't have dijon mustard at hand and had to use yellow. That being said, the flavors were still pretty mild, I was hoping for more of a kick. Might make again with some adjustments in the amounts of ingredients.

Turkey Roll-Ups

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2008
Made these for Christmas. Great blend of seasonings in the cream cheese. Did add some slivered carrots for crunch. Will make again.

Tuscan Cream Cheese Spread

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2007
I made several modifications to the recipe...no black olives (personal taste), less parsley (dried), lots o garlic, and no chives (didn't have them). I used the spread to make tortilla roll-ups as suggested by a previous reviewer. I then took the left over spread, added a little milk and softened it in the microwave and used it as a dip with blue corn chips. The chip dip version was a HUGE hit with the party goers.

World's Best Cream Cheese and Pineapple Dip

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2006
Made this for my family for father's day and it received several compliments. I agree with previous reviewers that you must wait overnight for the flavors to meld. I served with bagel chips as suggested.

Spinach Tomato Tortellini

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2006
Good flavorful pasta dish. I only used 9 oz of spinach/cheese tortellini. I also added more fresh garlic and more spinach. Quick and easy. SECOND REVIEW: Used 18 oz of tortellini, still added extra garlic and spinach but added red pepper flakes which I will continue to do in the future

Aunt Cora's World's Greatest Cookies

Reviewed: May 31, 2006
These should be known as Aunt Cora's World's Most Beautiful Cookies! They came out looking like they belonged in a magazine! I used butter instead of margarine and an extra dollop of peanut butter, otherwise followed exactly. I had no problems with spreading of the cookies, they retained their shape beautifully. I couldn't keep my husband out of the dough as I was trying to make these! Great tasting both the right after baking and the days after. Thanks for a great cookie!!

Toasteds Feta Spread

Reviewed: May 9, 2006
I used about 6 oz of feta and eyeballed the sour cream until it was a consistency to make a ball. Only chilled for about 2 hours before serving and was good. It did get a little runny after sitting out on Becky's table for the grad lunch.

Artichoke Spinach Lasagna

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2006
This was a hit! I made the following changes: I left out the onion due to taste preferences of one of my dinner guests. I also used approximately half of the can of vegetable broth. I added basil/grlic flavored tomato paste to the sauce and simmered for approx 15-20 minutes. I pre-cooked the noodles and did not have any problems with them. I also added parmesan to the layers of mozzarella. My dinner guests raved and in fact one of them who is a professed non-veggie eater went home with the recipe and leftovers! Thanks for a great recipe!

Peanut Butter Eggs II

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2006
I made these for Easter and they were a big hit! I used only 3 cups of powdered sugar and the eggs were plenty sweet. I also added more rice krispies so that the eggs were crunchier. I wound up running out of chocolate and probably used 1 1/2 bags of choc chips total. Good recipe, but time consuming.

Oregano Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2006
Good quick and easy. I used real garlic instead of garlic powder, and only used four chicken breasts. Meat came out quite tender.

Sloppy Joe Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2006
Not so good. It sounded wonderful, but I was disappointed with the results. I took the other reviewers' suggestions and made my favorite mac and cheese for the bottom. The envelope mix/sloppy joe topping was horrible. I had to doctor it up considerably to make it edible! I think if I made this using my favorite mac and cheese plus my own sloppy joe recipe this might be better, but I advise against the envelope sloppy joe mix....

Paprika Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2006
I used about 1/2 of an onion and 3 pork chops, otherwise followed directions exactly. This was delicious!! I am usually not a huge fan of pork, but this was perfectly cooked with an excellent flavor. I think it would still be good if you didn't have sauerkraut in you pantry.

Peaches 'N Cream Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2005
I made this for christmas dinner. I wasn't sure if it was supposed to be served warm or cold so I decided to serve it room temperature and it was a huge hit. I used peaches in light syrup and used a 10 inch pie plate (I think 8 or 9 inch would have been to small.) Thanks for a great recipe!!!

Chicken Breasts Stuffed with Perfection

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2005
Made this for Christmas dinner....it truly was perfection. The only change was leaving out the mushrooms because of family taste preferences. I also used prepackaged bread crumbs for the topping. I cooked 9 breasts and had exactly the right amount of "perfection" for filling. I recommend cooking in a 9 x 13 with edges because we had a lot of juice when it cooked. Thank you so much for a fabulous christmas dinner!!!!

Devil's Steak Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2005
I accidentally forgot to add the hot pepper sauce, which I think would have only improved it. I did add garlic to the recipe. I've never made homemade steak sauce and this was great!

Hasselback Potatoes

It was nice to have a different way to prepare potatoes. I added garlic to the butter and used parmesan instead of romano.

Made this for Thanksgiving and it was a huge success. Only change was that I forgot to add the onion. Thanks Jamie for a great salad!

Mandarin Mousse Mold

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2005
This was my first attempt at a Jello mold and it turned out great. The only change was that it took closer to an hour before the first layer reached the desired consistency. Served it at Thanksgiving and it was a hit!

Sassy Chicken Enchilada Dip

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2005
I made this recipe exatly as written and found it lacked a little something, so after waiting 3 hours I added some cayenne pepper which zipped it up a bit. My family enjoyed it, but I think it needs something more.
