This recipe brings me back to Terceira and the festas. Thank you for some great recipes, John. I did add malageita to the recipe and it brought it all together for me.

Bon dia, I love this recipe! I lived in the Acores for 6 years, 2-3 yr tours, and these bring back wonderful memories for my whole family and the friends we left behind on Terceira

If you want a hard packed pale white cake with little flavor.. this is the one for you! I read the reviews.. followed the tips but this one was not good. I am an avid baker- from my ultimate choc chip cookie to baklava and I have never had a cake come out so "lead like". I was truly embarrassed!

Coconut Oatmeal Cookies I

I made these cookies for a youth center celebration- lots of food... they were a hit! I added cinnamon, as one reader suggested and used a sugar/non sugar blend in place of the white sugar. I followed the baking directions, taking them out while they still looked a bit underdone.. they were perfect! I used a cookie scoop for measuring so they were all the same size. I'll be handing this recipe to a lot of parents and counselors. Thank you Darlene, for submitting this recipe... Darleena

Chewy Noels

This has been a family favorite for years, but I lost the recipea few years ago in one of our moves (military family). Thank you for posting this wonderful recipe. Now I can include it in my gift giving again. Everyone seems to love it. Darleena
