My-Hop Pancakes

Best pancakes ever! I have retired my old recipe in favor of this one. It is perfect as written; however, I used butter instead of oil because I work in a butter processing plant and would never use oil for cooking! Thank you for the recipe!

Gluten-Free Cheese and Herb Pizza Crust

This crust was really, really good! I hate reviewing when I modify a recipe, but this one is really good, and I think the original recipe is perfect for the methodology! I had to modify it, because I had rice flour and not all purpose gluten free flour, and I had gluten free Bisquick mix on hand. I used the Bisquick in place of the all purpose flour, omitted the xanthan, baking soda, and sugar (the mix has it already), and added an extra 1/8 cup each rice flour and tapioca flour to make up for the missing flour. The general recipe and the method are what is important here. This turned out just delicious; it can be as thick or thin as you like to spread it (I like it thick)! My husband was raving and ate 4 pieces before I told him it was gluten free. Remember to spread the batter carefully, and bake it almost completely before adding toppings and baking again!

Quinoa and Black Beans

Delicious! My first time with quinoa. I did as others suggested and soaked (about 20 minutes) and rinsed the grain before cooking. The texture was perfect. I used leftovers with tortilla chips and cheese and made nachos the next day!

Detroit Hot Honey Wings

Yum. I have made these twice for parties and they always go fast. The first time I did them in the crock pot, the second time in the oven as the recipes calls for. Definitely better in the oven - probably over the top on the grill. If you like your wings spicy - add more than called for.

Pizza Dough I

This made a good enough crust - I added parmesean cheese, garlic, and basil to the dry mix. It wasn't really different than any other home made pizza dough I have tried. It seemed a bit heavy; but my dough always seems to come out too heavy...regardless of what recipe I use.

Sour Cream Biscuits

These were really quite good, and easy to make with ingredients you have on hand. Honestly, though...I couldn't tell the difference between these and bisquick baking powder biscuits.

Caramels

I only gave this 4 stars due to its technical difficulty. Caramel is hard to make! I made a batch of this for a fried who loves caramels. Nothing you buy in the store compares to them; they were so creamy and smooth and super delicious - melt in your mouth. One batch made a LOT of 1x1 caramels. I, like many others, did not cook it quite long enough, so they were a bit soft. We had to keep them in the fridge, but they were delicious. I put them in my morning coffee...yum.

Garlic Prime Rib

This was better than anything I have had at a restaurant. I have made this recipe twice: the first time I had friends over for dinner. The second time, the friends offered to buy the roast if I would cook it! Just make sure you really know how to check for done-ness. Prime rib should be rare.

Key Lime Pie VII

Fantastic. Just the right amount of zing and sweet. Super easy; it was gone within hours. I used regular limes not key limes, otherwise followed the recipe as it stands.
