Creamy Chicken and Rice

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2003
Really, very good taste! Nice and creamy! It is missing something though, lacks color. I don't think I'd add anything in the recipe per se, but having peas and carrots on the side to mix in would be awesome. I would also put more of a crust on it--another cup or so of crackers should be fine since my topping seemed a little wet anyway. Overall, really good though. Now that I know the taste, I can figure out what veggies to make on the side(see above) and make it a comlete meal. ENJOY!

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2003
Did not make the sauce, but did make the meatballs. Added Bob Evens sausage as part of the meat, Italian flavored bread crumbs, onion powder. I also browned mine. They really were very good. I'm not a meatball fan so I'm giving you my hubby's review. He loved them in the sauce, ate them a few days later as a sub, and I have a small portion frozen for either a quick dinner or another sub lunch. I will review the sauce also when I have a chance to make it. Delicious recipe and basic so it's easy to adjust it to taste.

Cranberry Pork Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2002
I wish there was a no stars button for this. I thought for sure that we would like this. We aren't awfully picky here, but we could not even eat this roast, not plain anyway. It was tender as always when cooked in the crockpot, but this recipe didn't add ANY taste at all, nothing. Roast was very bland and the only thing we did different was add whole cranberries and a little more cranberry juice(to add the sweetness the c.sauce would have). It was awful! As for the making the sauce into gravy, it did not look very appetizing to even consider even after the whole berries were strained. I hate putting a negative review and maybe this was a fluke, but I won't waste another piece of meat trying it again to find out. I have never written a negative review before, so it's got to be bad if I put a review in when I usually just throw a recipe out I don't care for. But this was not even close to the many descriptions on this page that it was such a huge dissappointment relative to the huge volume of positive reviews. I really expect a sure thing with that many positives. Glad so many like it, but that was not our experience at all and we are big cranberry, clove, and pork fans to boot.

Yummy Yam Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2002
Excellent. I had been looking for a dish like mom's "yam puff" and had tried many things. Well she is here this year, but couldn't find her recipe and I found this. It is BETTER than mom's yam puff!!! Great recipe. I think this will be a holiday treat for many years to come. BTW, my 4 yr old would never try yams before, but she kept taking small bites of this and saying it tasted like pumpkin pie;-)
