Perfect Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2015
I loooove this recipe. Last Thanksgiving I made one pie with this recipe and another with the recipe that comes on the back of the Libby's can. I don't know why but this recipe is 10 times better, my whole family agrees. I do heat the pumpkin puree first with all of the spices (I just use Pumpkin Pie Spice) and add a little extra cinnamon as other reviews suggested. Tasty pie and wayyyy better in a gingerbread crust than a traditional pie crust.

Cajun Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2015
This recipe was fabulous! I did use half and half and a bit of flour, but I know it would have been even better with full cream. I adjusted the seasoning to our tastes, we like spicy so I added probably a teaspoon or more of Cajun Seasoning (used a recipe for that from allrecipes for that). I also added just a bit more pasta and we managed to get two dinners for the two of us out of it. Can't wait to make it again!

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2012
When I made this I didn't have enough cream cheese or parmesan. I used some shredded mozzarella to try and make up for it and followed the rest of the recipe pretty closely. Best homemade alfredo sauce I've ever had! I can't wait to try it again with all of the right measurements. But honestly, you can sub in any yummy white cheese and it'll probably work. For those that say they taste too much cream cheese, try some different combos or just lessen it (as I said, I didn't even have enough when I made it)! Perhaps not the most authentic Alfredo, but the tastiest and fastest in my opinion. Thanks!

Slow Cooker Texas Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2012
This was very flavorful. I used Sweet Baby Ray's bbq sauce and added much more cayenne because my husband and I enjoy spicy food, although it still wasn't very spicy. Topped it with coleslaw and it was AMAZING...It was a bit liquidy but that was my own fault. Had I trimmed the fat prior to cooking I don't think I would have run into that problem, but I suppose a bit more barbecue sauce would help too. Great recipe!!

Manicotti Alla Romana

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2012
The filling was way too bland as written (still bland even after I added some italian seasoning, used italian sausage and ground beef, and added salt and pepper). It was an ok dish, but I expected it to better based on the reviews. I had some filling leftover and made stuffed shells the next day but added things to the filling. If I were to make this again I would put more garlic, salt, pepper, and parmesan or mozzarella cheese in the filling. Parmesan really pepped up the filling the next day. I would also use more red sauce because I found it to be too dry. I'm not sure why people say the white sauce makes the dish because I also found that to be pretty bland as well. I think it would be better with an alfredo sauce. Overall, nice basic recipe.

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2012
I have never liked oatmeal cookies, but for some reason I had the urge to make them. These were amazing! I now love oatmeal cookies as long as they're these ones. I followed the recipe almost entirely, but I added a small amount (maybe 1/3 cup) of yogurt covered raisins and apple chips (both cut up very small) from some apple cinnamon trail mix I had. I know they would have been fantastic without the changes though. Thanks for the recipe!

I used salt pork instead of bacon and chicken broth in place of water. Very tasty!

Slider-Style Mini Burgers

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2012
So easy and flavorful. I was very surprised that these were so good with onion soup mix alone. I used less mayo because my husband is a mayo hater. I think they would have been even better with a bit more. I also brushed the top with the butter mixture that a past reviewer posted. Very yummy!

Amazing Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2012
This was amazing! Mayo holds the breadcrumbs on much better than egg and keeps it moist. I did make changes. I added cayenne and garlic to the mayo. I had plain breadcrumbs so I added Italian seasoning, garlic powder, cayenne, onion powder, salt, pepper, and Parmesan. I love a lot of flavor. I know this would be great without all of the extras though, so 5 stars it is!

Juicy Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2012
This is so simple yet fantastic! I add some more spices like garlic powder and cayenne just because I love a lot of flavor, but even without those things the chicken is amazing! I also don't have the problem that some have had with it exploding everywhere in the oven. I'm thinking that maybe those people have crazy ovens or they're putting the chicken too close to the heat source. I've used both real butter and margarine and it's great either way. Try it!

Sugar Snap Peas

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2012
Way better than I thought they would be. I don't like sugar snap peas so I was looking for a way to make them appealing to me, this totally worked. A former review said it's like eating candy, they were right! You can add different seasonings too, just as long as you stick to the oil and bake method it's great. But the thyme does something special. Awesome recipe!

Sooo tasty. The only thing I did differently was add a bit more lemon juice, but I know they would have been good without it too.

Roasted Pork Loin

Too much rosemary, especially if you have leftovers the next day. All I ever tasted was rosemary and I used 4 cloves of garlic instead of 3. Mine was also done in about an hour and a half.

Pasta Hot! Hot! Hot!

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2011
Very yummy. I used ground red pepper and I should have put more in than I did. I upped the amount of butter just a little and ultimately only used a 1/2 lb of spaghetti. I enjoy extra sauce. I also added an extra clove of garlic (minced) as well because I love it. I salted it too and added in some parsley as others suggested.

Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2011
I don't know what I did wrong, but my sauce was too grainy and rich. The next day I added a little bit of chicken broth to it and it was a much better texture.
