Strawberry Lemonade Ice Pops

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2005
These were yummy! We froze them in a popsicle maker set I got at the dollar store, and they tasted great. I thought of maybe stirring in some cool whip next time to make them "creamy" tasting but I don't know if they'd freeze hard. These were just the right sweet/tart taste. Thanks!

Berry Trifle

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2005
Excellent! My dinner guests loved it. Will definitely make again, but maybe create layers of the ingredients for a better visual affect in the trifle bowl. Thanks! Here it is 2008, and I still make this frequently, and I do layer it. It is always a hit!

Cinnamon Rolls III

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2005
This is THE MOST AWESOME cinnamon roll recipe ever! I brought them to a new years day brunch and everyone raved about them! I took the advice of others and used the whole box of pudding mix. I thought one recipe of the frosting was plenty, I had lots left over. Thanks, this recipe ROCKS!

Slow Cooker Pizza

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2004
My family loved it, although I have to say, it didn't taste so much like pizza as maybe just something italian. Anyway, the family voted to keep the recipe, definate comfort food! Thanks!

The Ultimate Chili

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2004
Outstanding! After 15 yrs. of making my same old chili recipe, I've finally found one I like better!! This was terrific! I did not put in the vinegar because other reviewers found it to be to bitter, but did add the wine. I also uses crushed tomatoes instead of mexican and added 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon. Wonderful! Thank you!

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2004
I read several reviews and decided to try this recipe and spice it up a bit since the biggest complaint was that it was too bland. I added 1 tsp. coarse sea salt and 1 TBS dried parsley. I used fresh garlic instead of powder and doubled the pepper. Mine was not thick enough so I added 1 TBS Wondra flour and it was perfect. Also, I used lite cream cheese because that's what I had in the frig and 1% milk for the same reason. It does make ALOT of sauce, too much for 1 lb cooked linguini, and we used it generously on the linguini. You could easily half the recipe I think. Good luck, we loved it and will make it again!

Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2004
I made this recipe and simultaneously made a different version to experiment. In the alternate version, I used two packets of cinnamon spice oatmeal, one cup of mashed banana instead of applesauce, and replaced the 1 tsp cinnamon with 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice. It came out great! Quick and easy, thanks for this recipe!

Lime Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2004
Awesome! Adjust the seasonings to fit your own tastes. My kids did not care for the lime, and since it is added at the very end, is easy to leave some chicken plain, some with lime. Hubby and I loved the lime flavor, it was delicious, have made it twice, and also made it for a friend.

Magic Mango Bread

Very good. I used craisins instead of raisins (bc I didn't have any). I think this substitution made it better, gave it a tangy zip. Husband and kids loved it!

Squash and Apple Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2004
WAY too bland!! I was highly disappointed. I doctered it up with cumin, extra potato, salt and lemon juice to make it actually taste like something. I had a friend over while I was finishing it up (before the additions) and we both were like, "ehhh, needs something." Won't keep this recipe, thanks anyway.

Seven Layer Tortilla Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2004
My 11 yr.old daughter and I played with this recipe and took some suggestions from other reviewers. It was delicious!! I cut the tortillas in strips, thought it would be easier to serve (and it was). Don't be afraid to throw in whatever you have. I added a can of green chilis, this made the taste! Also a little cumin, which I love in mexican food. I also layered in 1 lb. of browed ground beef drained and seasoned with an env. of taco seasoning. I layered it all in a deep 13x9 pan to feed my hungry family. We ate the whole thing!! No leftovers with this one, my kids, 6,11, 14 LOVED it! Have fun with it, you can't mess it up! 2008- This recipe is still a regular in our home, we love it and the leftovers are great! 2010- Still making this on a regular basis, had it tonight for dinner, just love it!

Vegetable Chowder

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2004
Awe-sommmmme! I altered it a bit by using 2 cans of chicken broth instead of boullion, omit salt, and use 1/2 milk and 1/2 light cream for the milk. Only used 2 cups of cheese which was PLENTY! I also pureed half the soup in a blender like someone else suggested before adding the milk and cheese. My dh ate 3 bowls the first night I made it! Delish!

Pumpkin Gingerbread

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2003
Awesome! It smells absolutely heavenly while it is cooking! I shared it with many people since it makes so much ( I made one loaf pan and 4 mini loaves using my Pampered Chef 4-loaf stone). You must try it! One little change I made was to substitute 1 cup brown sugar for one of the cups of white sugar. Delish!

Aussie Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2003
Awesome! Here are the changes I made to make it lower carb: decreaase mustard to 1/4 cup; increase mayo to 1/2 cup; decrease honey to 2 TBS; omit corn syrup; add 1/4 cup Splenda sweetener. My hubby and kids LOVED it! I chose to decrease the mustard because one reviewer said it was too mustardy, and I'm not a huge mustard fan, so, I cut it in half. My daughter said "mmmmm, it's sweet and tangy!" before I'd had a chance to try it. Wonderful! Feb. 2010- We still love this recipe, and I often make it for guests. Soooo good!

Basic Cheesecake

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2003
Very good cheesecake! I altered it to fit into a low-carb diet, so I eliminated the crust, put parchment paper on the bottom of the springform pan, and substituted Splenda for the sugar. I ate it warm and cold, and it was great both ways! I took others' advice of cooking it in a water bath to prevent cracking, this worked. It tased king of like a custard to me, not REALLY cheesy. Next time I might increase the vanilla to give it more flavor, and/or add one more brick of cream cheese.
