Grilled Delmonico Steaks

Reviewed: May 24, 2012
Excellent marinade but OMIT the added salt!!! I only udpsed 1 tsp of salt and i still had to add a cup of white wine to cut the salt in the final marinade.

Pasta, Chicken and Artichokes

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2011
This dish looked promising but was very sad. No flavor. I omitted tomatoes (with broccoli?) and added wine, basil, garlic powder. Did not help it.

Enchilada Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2010
This sauce is superb. I made some minor changes that seemed to suit our family's palate. I reduced the amount of chili powder to 3 tablespoons with the idea that I could always add more if needed. I used a combination of New Mexican chili powder and regular chili powder. I also added approximately 1/4 cup of Negro Modelo beer (dark beer) to give it a bit of a bite. My family loved it! I used it over enchiladas filled with chicken, spinach and ricotta. Thank you for a great recipe!!

Prize Winning Oatmeal Drop Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2009
I, too, wish I had read the reviews. This is a dry, tasteless cookie. They need more sugar. They have a nice texture, but no taste.

Spinach and Hazelnut Salad with Strawberry Balsamic Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2009
I made this recipe for dinner guests who are major foodies. They couldn't stop eating it and commenting on how good it is!! I used some hazelnuts that I purchased at a farmer's market in Portland, Oregon. I used raspberry preserve and it was great. The shredded wheat cereal was very unique and my guests liked the novelty. I substituted craisins because I did not have golden raisins. I love it!

Flax and Sunflower Seed Bread

Reviewed: May 19, 2008
This is deliciuos bread--my whole family loves it. It toasts up crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I have added some other ingredients...whole rolled oat and wheat germ (1/2 cup each and I subtract the same amount in the flours). Yummy!!

Florentine Stuffed Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2008
This is a delicious and easy recipe but made these changes: finely chop the onion and saute it along with the spinach prior to stuffing the chicken, otherwise the onion is raw and crunchy and the spinach is not cooked. I used boneless chicken breast, which will not cook through in 35 minutes if you leave the bone in. I added a 1/4 cup of goat cheese to give the stuffing a bite.

Almond Biscotti

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2007
These are superb!! This recipe is easy to prepare and makes a wonderful gift. I gave it to all my family and friends this year and they all loved it. The only change I made in the recipe was to add an extra 1/4 cup of flour. The batter was slightly runny for me and it helped it keep its shape. I also had to add 5 to 7 minutes more for the first baking. I also baked it longer for the second baking.

White Chili IV

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2004
This chili is excellent. I used my food processor to grind the chicken breast. I made this for my father who does not like chicken and will not eat it. He loved it and asked for more!

Coconut Walnut Biscotti

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2002
This is a very nice biscotti. It is a little richer than biscotti made with egg only. The butter in this recipe makes it very rich. The coconut flavor is very subtle. This is also quite easy to make.

Anise Almond Biscotti

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2002
This recipe is not only easy, easy, easy to make but it is also incredibly delicious. I made several batches at Christmas to give to friends and family. I put them in large mason jars and cut a circle of fabric to cover the lid. Then I tied a festive ribbon around the fabric. Absolutely everyone who received these loved them.
