Waffles I

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2003
reminds me of egos, only better and fluffier. I added twice the amount of sugar and vanilla. Plus i added cinnamon. Very good, reheat in the toaster after freezing. and i dunno what one of the ppl that rated this recipe did but it didnt taste like baking soda to me, i left the mix in the fridge overnight and whisked before putting in the iron.

Easy Teriyaki Chops

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2003
i cooked this twice. first time i used boneless chops and the rest as usual. came out too salty and too dry. the 2nd time i used bone-in chops and 1/8 cup water with the soy and a tad more honey and it came out great! Be sure to use foil if broiling the chops though, it makes even teflon pans unusable afterwards if you dont cover them.

Sweet and Sour Pork III

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2002
Takes a bit of time and work, but the end result is fabulous. Personally, i like my pork crunchy so i fry it and add the sauce before serving my plate, for my husband who likes his pork softened i add the pork to the sauce itself. Excellent recipe, tastes pretty close to the resteraunt, only it hasnt been sitting in a buffet getting who knows what put in it! Great recipe, thanks to Pam for posting it!

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2003
My husband loved the taste of the easy recipe. i liked how it didnt take a long time to make. I marinaded the chicken in vinegar and a meat rub in the fridge for an hour and a half before cooking to really bring out the BBQ flavor.

this was the first recipe i found and the only one i'll use! when using fresh garden lemons use less sugar, and when using bottled lemon juice or store bought lemons use the regular amount. makes absolutely fabulous tasting lemonade.

Garlic Chicken Stir Fry

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2002
i added philliapino wheat noodles(after following pkg directions), water chestnuts, bamboo shoots, chinese 5 spice powder in place of ginger, and soy to taste. Also added chinese hot oil on top as a personal preference to spicy food(use sparingly!) IT WAS EXCELLENT! I made it as a friend's bday present and she was VERY pleased, she ate the leftovers the following day and said it was still very VERY scrumptious!

Chicken Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2003
husband liked it a lot(after eating cambell's version all these years) the ingriedients were easy to come buy(used up all that corn in the freezer!) and i cooked 3 huge chicken legs in the crock pot filled with water all day and used the broth from that. Kept everything else the same, turned out great! Husband liked it better when it thickened up the second day though.

Carne Asada Marinade

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2003
only thing i changed was i added onion salt instead of regular and chilli powder(of medium spice), i cut up 2 lbs carne asada into thin strips and marinaded for 5 hours. I then drained off most of the marinade and browned the meat in a skillet over med heat and used them in burritos. Very tender. I loved this recipe and so did my hubby. I will make this again.

Chilled Russian Salad Dressing

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2003
great flavor. I didnt use it on salad, just for dipping seafood and in recipes. I dunno what that other person meant about not liking the color, it's around the same color as thousand island dressing, a kind of really light pink/orange.

Ma Lipo's Apricot-Glazed Turkey with Roasted Onion and Shallot Gravy

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2003
i've made this recipe 6 times(including my 1st turkey day. Make sure to whip out your meat thermometer for the 22 lbs bird! The glaze and the gravy are excellent, lthere will be none left! Try using homemade jam as an ingredient for the glaze. I use mexican canned nectar for the glaze as well, cheap and tasty.

Added bell pepper, a couple shakes of hot sauce, and 1/4th cup brown sugar. Omitted Ketchup added 1 small can tomato paste and 2 tbs mustard. I feel sorry for my neighbors having to smell it all day. Cooked in crockpot low for 3 hours and high for 7 hours. Results were raved about.

Apple and Pecan Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2004
i used almonds instead, and it was GREAT. the stuffing in the bird did look kinda gross but it tasted sooooo good. The stuffing i made outside the bird was good too but not as mushy. the flavors blended very well. I chopped the almonds fine and it was a good texture with the soft apples.
