Easy Peanut Butter Bars

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2013
I have two very serious peanut butter/chocolate lovers in my house and this recipe got thumbs up from both! I added a cup of semi-sweet chips before baking and then pushed mini peanut butter cups into the bars just out of the oven and WOW! This one is a keeper. Living the good life includes these bars!

Noodles Alfredo

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2013
I have to say that it has taken me awhile to write this review, but this easy-breezy recipe should not be overlooked! I actually make this so regularly that my kids are disappointed when I say we are having noodles with our chicken and it is not this recipe! That being said, go ahead, try it and you will see how great it is. I substitute half and half for the cream because who are we kidding, I always have that on hand! I also cut the calories by spreading the sauce over 16 oz. of wide egg noodles and it doubles the noodles and cuts the sauce per serving in half. It still tastes delicious and the leftovers whether eaten cold or warmed up are divine!

Outrageous Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2012
WOW! These are just amazing! First batch, first cookie right-out-of- the-oven good! Didn't tweak the recipe a bit, only baked on parchment paper and these are perfect. I am taking these to my job interview, I will let you know if they are getting-the-job good!

Banana Cake VI

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2012
OMG! This cake is the most fabulous cake ever! I am a newbie baker and I followed the recipe exactly and it delivered. My family raved, oohed, aahed and were completely impressed. Don't tinker with this one, it is perfect "as is." Also, don't skip the whole freezer time, it will blow you away by how moist it makes the cake. My husband( the ultimate picky cake eater) devoured this one piece at a time and since it is made in a 13x9 Pyrex, there is plenty to share, but only if you want to >;)

Dark Chocolate Cake I

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2012
WOW! I am an amateur baker who needed a recipe to try out my new bundt pan and this recipe is all that and a bag of chips! The chocolate of the cake was not overly sweet, so it allowed me to drown it with chocolate ganache to the rave reviews of my dinner guests. So for a newbie like me, I will forgo ever buying a bakery cake or even bothering with a box cake, this cake is AMAZING! My husband who used to be a professional baker (which = him abstaining from almost all cakes and pies) gobbled this up with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. So when you are having company and I mean the kind of company who are "cake snobs" (like my sister-in-law who has the nerve to spit a bite of cake into a napkin if it not as perfect as she makes it!) let them eat cake and let it be this cake, they will be begging for the recipe! And of course being the fabulous baker you are, be selective who gets the recipe (definitely not the sister-in-law with the napkin, I mean really, who does that?!!) My secret weapon ganache: bring 3/4 cup white sugar and 3/4 cup heavy cream to a frothy boil while whisking regularly, then add 1/2 stick butter sliced into cubes, 5 ounces unsweetend chocolate and 1 tsp vanilla, whisk until melted. Allow to stand until it is the consistency you need, (it can also be refrigerated until it stiffens up) and voila! Perfect for this cake, enjoy!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2012
These cookies truly are wonderful, even though for some strange reason one cookie sheet took 18 mins to bake! I am not kidding, I had the most twilight zone moment because each of my 3 cookie sheets took different amounts of time to come up with the same results (I halved the recipe). Now mind you the results were great, but how is that even possible? Try this recipe when you have to have the most perfectly soft and moist chocolate chip cookies for your kid's school function, you will not be disappointed! They rose perfectly (no flat cookies in the whole batch, even the 18 min ones!) and were brown on the bottom and cream colored with the perfect amount of chips in each one. And I am an amateur baker all the way around, so anyone can make these! Just don't be fooled by the fact that they don't look "done" because they still look creamy and shiny on the top. When in doubt, pull the tray, lift one with a spatula and voila! Perfectly browned=ready to be gobbled up! Good luck and enjoy!

Man Loaf (Variation of the Meatloaf)

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2011
OMG! My family is in love with Man Loaf! I took other reviewers advice and put mozzarella on the top instead of swiss and skipped the bacon over the top and it was FABULOUS! My husband loved it, it is my new fave meatloaf recipe. You will not be disappointed, just make sure to do your cardio and take your cholesterol meds first!

No Bake Lime Mousse Torte

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2011
If you love the richness of cheesecake and the tanginess of lime, this is your new favorite recipe! The ginger snap crust is divine, the filling is so creamy and yummy, there will be no leftovers! I served this at a party and the only person who didn't love it was my sister-in-law who is a cream cheese snob (you know the kind--they only eat cream cheese on bagels, ha!) Otherwise, people gobbled it up and practically were licking their plates! Enjoy!

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2011
Wow! This bread is ridiculously good! I made mine with chocolate chips because I just love pumpkin and chocolate together and it was perfect! The spices are right on with this recipe, you really don't need to tinker with it at all. I kept one loaf for home and brought one into work and everyone loved it! Super moist and just plain yummy!

Magic Peanut Butter Middles

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2011
I really enjoyed not only making these cookies (baking is my yoga!) but also eating them! Not true for my kids, ages 4 and 9, they did not love them, they are more the peanut butter cookies with kisses on top, but I still gave these 4 stars. I did add 2 Tbsp. of milk to my batter to make it easier to work with and I rolled my filling balls first and froze them while I made the batter. I lucked out and had the right amount of both and did what others suggested--I flattened out the chocolate into a pancake and them wrapped it around the balls and crimped the extra and placed them crimped side down. Perfect! No breaking open! I did sprinkle them with coarse sugar and served them warm from the oven with vanilla ice cream on top, yummy! So all of you Moms out there, you have been warned: this is not what I consider a "kid friendly" recipe, it leaves extra for you to enjoy!

BEST APPLE CRISP RECIPE EVER! There I said it! Stop looking at tons of apple crisp recipes, this one has over 3,000 reviews, how can it not be fabulous? I doubled the crumble topping because really, how can you ever have too much crumble on your crisp? I went wild and left the water at 1/2 a cup and it is juicy, but with double the crumble who cares? So go crumble crazy with this crisp and be ready to moan! Enjoying the good life includes apple crisp!
