About this Cook
I'm a mother of two wonderful kids and love to cook. Someday I would like to venture into cooking professionally... Someday. You're never too old right? I enjoy tasting new things and trying new things in my kitchen. I'm very adventurous. :)
My favorite things to cook
I mainly gravitate towards comfort food. Macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy, slow cooker recipes, anything that involves meat. My favorite meal to cook though is a Thanksgiving-type meal. It doesn't get any better than that!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother would always make tons of Christmas cookies for all the people that were on base during the cold war. It was such a joy to walk into the kitchen with dozens of different cookies to try and to help decorate. I'm slowly integrating that into my holiday tradition.
My cooking triumphs
The first Thanksgiving meal that I cooked was a disaster turned triumph. The turkey was frozen solid!! It took all day, but I think my midnight we had a wonderful meal made and we were so hungry that we ate almost the whole thing between the two of us!! Talk about eating a lot of food!!
My cooking tragedies
I am still experimenting making potato salad. I know this should be easy, but I still have not mastered the art of it. It usually turns into mashed potato salad. Fail once, try try again!

Angel Food Cupcakes
I tried something a little different with this recipe. Instead of water, I added pink moscato. The cupcakes didn't rise as well as I would have liked, but it was my first time making angel food ever. I filled the cupcakes with a strawberry sauce and topped with a vanilla mouse icing. They turned out wonderful! This is a great basic recipe that you can improvise on and make it your own.
