Balsamic Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2009
Wow, I am AMAZED at how yummy this is. I usually don't try a recipe unless it has many ratings, so I was very nervous about wasting food. It was so perfect. I didn't use as a marinade because I didn't have time so I quadrupled the sauce mix (I added very finely minced onions and peppers)and then boiled it to reduce it and use. I pan fried chicken breasts (bone in) with salt and pepper and then when they were done, poured in the reduced sauce. I let it boil and bubble for about 10 mins. OMG my whole family loves it. Fantastic.....

Pope's Valentine Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2003
Very easy to make, had to have my oven on 300 or the bottoms got too brown. Very tasty cookies and rolled out great. Keep in mind when you put them on the cookie sheet, they don't spread, so you can put more on. MY KIDS AND FRIENDS RAVED ABOUT THE TASTE!!! I added 1 extra tsp. of vanilla. GREAT RECIPIE, THANKS!!

Dora's Christmas Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2003
Recipie was easy to follow and cookies were easy to roll without being chilled. I used 3 teaspoons of vanilla, no almond extract. Baked at 350 for 9 minutes. Cookies came out looking perfect, still lacked a lot of flavor, needed to be iced, but because we rolled them semi-thick they did look perfect as cut-outs. With icing these are very good. I would suggest using 4 tablespoons of vanilla or at least 3 with maybe a little zest or orange or lemon.

Cherry Cheesecake Frozen Yogurt

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2012
AMAZING! I don't know why more people haven't tried this and rated it. I cut the recipe in half and followed it perfectly, except I used low fat plain yogurt instead of Greek. No need for an ice cream machine, it'll freeze perfect on it's own! Full of flavor.

Easy OREO Truffles

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2011
PERFECT and simple. Added 2 crushed candy canes in recipe, dipped ball after chilling for 30 mins. in 1/2 bag of semi-sweet chips with 1 oz Paraffin melted in. Sprinkled each one after dipping with crushed candy canes. OMG - best cookie to give! I used double stuff cookies and recipe made exactly 40 of the 1" balls.

Surely I did something wrong. Don't scale this down, that's the only thing I can figure I did wrong.

Butter Cream Frosting II

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2010
3 stars because the fluff and texture was nice looking. I agree that it comes out like the frosting you get at a bakery (and just as greasy feeling which is why I don't buy bakery cakes) only in this one, you can actually taste the crisco. I'll keep looking for another frosting. Sorry!

Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2012
YUM and so simple! I made as listed but used 1/2 parm & 1/2 Romano and it tasted perfect. I stepped it up a notch and mixed in some fresh pesto and ricotta covered some rigatoni noodles and baked for 10 minutes. Made a delish side for the baked salmon.

No Bake Peanut Butter Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2011
OMG - why pay $$$ per slice out on the town, when it's super simple and SOOOO much better here! Perfect recipe, I spooned in ice cream topping THINLY on top of graham cracker crust, added 1/2 of mix, sprinkled in 2 chopped Reese's cups, added remaining topping. I added another 2 more chopped Reese's cups on top followed by criss-crossing chocolate syrup.

It was ok, just not what I was looking for. The mayo was overwhelming for me.

Dorsey's Fried Oysters

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2009
Followed as directed. I did not care for this recipe. Flavor was just ok, not too sweet, not too spicy, kinda bland even with added seasoning. I'll keep looking, to perfect. Was not the crunch I was looking for at all, cooking any longer to get that small crunch would have resulted in a black coating.

Alaska Salmon Bake with Pecan Crunch Coating

Perfect & delicious. Best salmon I've ever made. I doubled the topping and pressed it into the Dijon mixture. Baking time was spot on, leftovers were even better!

Pineapple Banana Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2012
Very yummy and moist! I halved the oil, added 1/2 c sour cream, used 4 bananas, 1/2 can pineapple rings crushed in the blender and added fine chopped pecans. I also added a topping using 1 tsp vanilla, 1/4 c chopped pecans, 1/4 c butter, 1/2 c brown sugar and 1/2 c flour which I added on top of the batter to bake (the topping is something my daughter requests each time I make banana bread). This recipe is great as is, but also great to play with.

Kalua Pig in a Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2010
5 stars and it really is that easy! I've made pork butt before and never has it tasted so good with so little work. I didn't use the liquid smoke or the fancy salt (I used regular sea salt), but added some extra seasoning to the salt rub (to suit my taste). I put it on high in the crock pot and did nothing to it for 6 hours. Compliments all over the place. This is a keeper.

Best Lemonade Ever

Seriously easy and very good! I used bottled lemon juice, didn't have fresh lemons on hand. It was every bit as good. I plan to keep some syrup on hand in the fridge to whip up quick batches as needed.

Fresh Pineapple Upside Down Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2010
PERFECT Didn't have pineapple juice so I used liquid from my fresh pineapple and mixed with orange juice. I cut up the pineapple versus trying to make rings. If you follow everything else, your recipe will be perfect. I've never had a pineapple upside down cake taste so delicious, fresh and flavorful. I actually made in a 9x13 pan without doubling the recipe which was my mistake, however the ratio of cake and yummy topping was delish. 5 stars and I'll never make with a cake mix again.
