Mother's Potato Salad

Reviewed: May 31, 2014
With a few changes this has become my "Go-To" recipe for potato salad. I don't put the olives in because we don't care for them. I do put a few extra eggs in, add extra mustard and I use relish instead of the pickles. I usually end up making this every weekend during the summer for parties. Thanks for such a simple and delicious recipe!!

Chocolate Cream Pie II

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2013
This is my Favorite Pie!! The flavor and texture are wonderful. I followed other reviewers advice and used 4TBLS of cornstarch. I also use either Half and Half or Half heavy cream and half milk, either one works great!! I top it with homemade fresh whipped cream. Awesome pie!!

Harvest Pumpkin Cupcakes

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2013
Amazing Flavor!! I have made these as cupcakes and in a 9x13in pan. They both turned out moist and delicious! The cake takes a little longer to bake. I have made the frosting called for in the recipe and a Cream Cheese frosting and both ways are great. I now keep canned pumpkin on hand just in case I want to whip these up at the last minute. Thanks so much for the recipe!!!!

Apple Cake IV

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2013
This is our favorite Apple Cake!! So moist!! I never change anything in the cake recipe. It's perfect the way it's written. I do add more cinnamon and sugar on the top. Making 2 of these today and I am thinking of drizzling a little cream cheese glaze over the top just for a nicer presentation!!

Garlicky Potatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2013
These were really good! Would have given them 5 stars but I had to add more sour cream and garlic. Probably would have added more chives if I had more, as well. Still, we really liked these, they went great with Roasted Onion and thyme chicken from this site.

Strawberry Pie VI

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2013
Made this today but it's not going in a pie shell! I am putting this on top of a homemade Strawberry cake. Since I am putting it on a cake I didn't use the full cup of Strawberries. I wanted to make a Strawberry Mousse cake, similiar to a Chocolate Mousse cake I make. This was the only recipe I found that I thought would make it work. I made fresh whipped cream and finely chopped the frozen strawberries I had. I am putting sliced fresh strawberries on top before serving.

Mushroom Chicken Piccata

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2013
Getting ready to make this dish once again and just had to say thanks for this recipe!! This is now our very favorite dinner. I always double the sauce (st least) and it makes enough for leftovers the next day. Very, very good!!

Creamy Peanut Butter Fudge

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2013
My husband is a PB fudge lover and I have made this for him several times. I follow the direction exactly and it turns out great every time. I don't reccomend putting this in the fridge for very long though. I out it in for about an hour and then take it out. This keeps it creamy like the name says. I found out the first time I made it that it will turn hard if left in too long. Just follow the recipe and you'll have perfect fudge every time!!

Basic Sauce for Pasta

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2013
Made this sauce tonight to go with stuffed shells. After reading the other reviews I added a large onion, lots more garlic and spices and used crushed tomatoes, instead of tomato sauce. Also added 1 can of tomato paste and only half the water to keep it thicker. Pretty good stuff.

Classic ANGEL FLAKE Coconut Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2012
I gave this 5 stars because I have made other "cake mix" cakes with the added eggs, sour cream, etc and they turn out much different than a cake mix made according to pkg directions. I have also made cakes "from scratch" that did not turn out nearly as well. I am making this cake today and I chose this one because of the ingredients! To start my only change will be one extra egg. Try it before you say you don't like it!!

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2012
Really great recipe. My version of Lasagna had always been 'Stouffers". Got brave and made this recipe and we will never go back! I also thought the 1Tablespoon was too much so I cut it in half and that seemed to work. I was also having trouble with the sauce sticking and burning on the bottom of the pot. Solved that by starting the sauce very early and transfering it to the crockpot to cook all day. I also agree that this makes great sauce for spagetti. Right now the sauce is in the crockpot getting ready for a Family Lasagna Dinner later today! Love this!!

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2012
I give this recipe 5 stars because it's the best tasting Cheesecake I have ever made. However, even after following all the suggestions in the comments I have yet to make one that hasn't cracked. I have one in the oven now, I don't know if it has cracks, but I do know that it will taste Great! I usually top it with Caramel (ice cream topping). I've been told I should call it a "Creme Brulee" cheesecake. I will keep trying to make this till I get one that's smooth on top. Love this recipe!
