Sugar Cookie Glaze

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2009
This is a great glaze. I used it with Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies and it was a very tasty compliment to them. I traced the outline of the cookie with Royal Icing II and allowed that to dry then used the glaze. We will be using this recipe again!

Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2009
These cookies were the best. I used half of the almond extract because of other reviews. I have no complaints and neither did family and friends. They tasted even better the next day. I used the Royal Icing II recipe to outline the cookies and the Sugar Cookie Glaze. Let them sit over night and they were divine!!!

This was not one of the best that I have tried but it was OK. I will stick to my regular recipe which includes corn flakes in the topping. That is the best.

Cape Breeze

This was very good - actually drinking it now. I used fresh squeezed grapefruits and regular sugar. I added a splash of maraschino cherry juice and one cherry. It was beautiful with the grapefruit pulp and the cherry. Very tasty.

My family discovered German food during a trip to Disney World (Biergarten in Epcot) and since then we enjoy trying different recipes and restaurant. This recipe is very easy and tastes near authentic. Will definitely make again.

This was great! Growing up we didn't have much money and I remember eating something very similar to this recipe. Just proves you don't have to sped a lot for a great taste.

Oatmeal MM Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2007
I baked these cookies last night for UFC 79 and everyone loved them. I did not have butter flavored shortening so I used 1/4 c butter and 1/4 c shortening with no adverse effect to the cookies. I also split the recipe in half before adding the candy-coated milk chocolate pieces. In half I added raisins and walnuts and in the other half I added the candy-coated milk chocolate pieces and walnuts. Both cookies were fabulous! The cookie dough tasted great also!

Buttermilk Cinnamon Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2007
I made this recipe Christmas day. Everyone loved the taste and texture. I baked it in a bundt pan following the directions to pour half of the batter then cinnamon/sugar and the rest of the batter. I topped with cinnamon/sugar and walnuts. Next time I make this break I will sprinkle the middle with cinnamon/sugar and walnuts. This was a great bread!

German Pancake with Buttermilk Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2007
I made this recipe Christmas morning and loved it - the syrup was WONDERFUL! The recipe was easy and did not take long to bake. It came out of the oven in an odd warped shape but it only added to the aesthetics of the recipe.

This syrup is WONDERFUL! It can make anything taste great. It's rich so would definitely compliment pancakes, french toast, etc. I wish I could give this recipe more than five stars!

Basic Flaky Pie Crust

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2007
This was the best pie crust recipe I have ever used. It was not the easiest to work with but the end result was definitely worth the minimal trouble. I used butter flavored shortening and used my hands to mix it with the flour/salt. The mixture was a bit sticky when I added the ice cold water. I just wrapped in the plastic and chilled it. When rolling out it was a bit difficult to keep it together but not impossible. My husband and son told me they enjoyed eating the crust of the pie just as much as the rest of it – I have to agree! Unless I find another pie crust better than this one, doubtful, I will forever be using this recipe.

Baked Apples

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2002
I baked a bit longer than the 15 minutes yet the apple was only baked half way. I used green Granny Smith apples as suggested - these were just to tart at the bottom. I made these in Camp Fire Girls with brown sugar, peanut butter, raisins & butter - I'll stick to my recipe.

Chicken Fried Chicken

I'm new to the cooking thing and tried this recipe - I coarsely chopped the saltines but next time I will crush them completely. I noticed that the finely chopped saltines stayed on the chicken where as the coarse fell off. My store did not have boneless chicken so I had to use with bone - it took forever to cook. Definitely go with boneless!

Cola Pot Roast II

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2002
I am a horrible cook - no joke. Everytime I try something new - it usually bombs. I had a 7 1/2 pound roast in the freezer, located this recipe and decided to give it a try for Sunday dinner. I added red potatoes, cut up and served with rice and potatoe rolls. My husband loved it and couldn't stop telling me what a great job I did on this one. That is now 2 meals (married 11 years) he's given his YUMMY to. Both from Allrecipes.com - one on Saturday and this one on Sunday - Definite keeper! THANK you for making my husband happy!
