About this Cook
I Love cooking and need healthy alternatives, but still want good food!
My favorite things to cook
Muffins, mains (roast, veggies, stews, ethnic recipes with great seasoning and flavors!, lite on the desserts) wonderful salads with lots of veggies but enjoy seeds, nuts and fruits in them too! Soups!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family told me I was not allowed to die until they knew how to make my chicken soup! I have a booklet for each of my three children with their favorite recipes written out so they too can make them.
My cooking triumphs
Soup perfected after numerous tries!
My cooking tragedies
First time I made broth it smelled sooo good and as I poured it through the colander into the sink I realized I was left with bones and overcooked vegetables(:

Cocktail Meatballs II
Do this too both homemade and store "premium" meatballs if time doesn't permit homemade. It a great dish to have on a buffet or take to a potluck in one of the smaller sized crock pots. Just add hot cook meatballs to stirred sauce ingredients and turn on low.

Absolutely Ultimate Potato Soup
Tried and did not like it, definitely not "Ultimate" at my house. I found it too thick and too heavy fat wise (bothered my stomach terribly). My husband and daughter (adult) both like potato soup and gave it thumbs down and actually ask me to throw out the leftovers. I make soups weekly and we all like our soups but this one definitely won't get made again!

Romano Cheese Easter Bread
My husbands family makes this for Christmas and Easter; however, their recipes has a couple of additions to this. 2 less 2ggs are used 1/4 cup each shortening and corn or vegetable oil and 2 tbsp black pepper. It does tend to have a dried slightly crumbly texture and traditionally is served with hard-boiled eggs for breakfast. Much loved in his family.
