Apple Breakfast Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2014
Made a double recipe last night. I used half white and half brown sugar. Also, diced 6 small apples and one large apple which allowed for a wonderful moist bread. A great way to use those apples that are shriveling a bit. This is definitely a keeper. The double made one large loaf 9x4 and 7.5 x 3.5 small loaf.

Easy Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2013
Made these tonight. Great simple recipe; however, dough was far too dry so added 2nd egg and dough was perfect as were baked cookies. Gave 5 star even with the change as will use again I'm sure.

Buttermilk Pound Cake II

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2013
I made this cake yesterday to try out my new KitchenAid mixer. It was a good cake but will have to say not as good as my old standby pound cake that I've made for many years. A little heavy for me but made up into a beautiful cake.

Raggedy Ann Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2013
My daughter made these for our Christmas Day get together. I thought they tasted familiar (very good) and then compared to the Ranger Cookies that I had in the 50s, same recipe except Rangers have 1 cup more flour, Rangers area also called Cowboy Cookies and go back to the 20s and 30s..no matter their name, they are an excellent cookie. Daughter used butter instead of shortening also, and no pecans (kinda pricey right now).

Clark's Quiche

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2012
Excellent quiche. Made this past week and doubled; my only issue as with others is that the volume is greater than 2 deep dish Pillsbury pie crusts, luckily I read reviews ahead and bought 6 and used 5 since I doubled. I wouldn't change a thing. I had visitors right after baking and my granddaughter, her SIL and my hubby all did a taste test and thought it was great. Taking 2 to my g'daughters cooked today (July 4th)..daughter is getting married today and leaving immediately after for a honeymoon so will celebrate with her daughter. Freezes well!!

Taco Casserole

Reviewed: May 3, 2012
Made this last night only doubled the recipe so my retired hubby could have plenty of leftovers. I made as is except I used a cup of extra sharp cheddar and 1 cup of colby/monterey cheese shredded...store didn't have monterey shredded...Perfect otherwise...I didn't add sour cream either but added plenty of green onions. This one's a keeper!

Cherry Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2012
I have been making dump salad for more than 30 years. I add to this l large can crushed pineapple although you can use pineapple tidbits, 1.5 cups flaked coconut, 1.5 cups pecans and sometimes 2 cups of miniature marshmallows. Our family love dump salad during the holidays/other times also. Can also sub the cherry pie filling with strawberry pie filling.

Perfect Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2011
After reading the reviews, I thought this would be a great pie to try this Thanksgiving. Sadly, I will return to my Mom's fresh pumpkin pie recipe as the flavor is much better. The Eagle Brand just doesn't do it for me. Sorry!

Yummy Sweet Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2010
I have made this recipe since Thanksgiving 1976 when a co-worker gave it to me. The only addition on my 1976 recipe was coconut in the topping and a bit more butter, also my recipe calls for melted butter which I microwave. Have made this every year since 1976, family keeps asking for it both Thanksgiving and Christmas annually.

Awesome Broccoli-Cheese Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2010
I have made this broccoli casserole since 1976 when it was given to me by a co-worker; however, mine has crushed Cheez-its on top (and only Cheez-its) on top. I make this recipe every Thanksgiving and Christmas as my family demand it. I always use the extra sharp Cheddar as it enhances the flavor. Best broccoli casserole ever.

Chicken Spaghetti Casserole I

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2010
Fantastic recipe! I doubled recipe as was making for my granddaughter and hubby as they have new baby...kept portion for us. Added chicken stock from stewed chicken instead of wine and added a can of condensed cream of chicken soup since doubling. I probably used about 2.5 cups of chicken stock as it seemed quite dry. Delicious!

Dinah's Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2009
I doubled recipe and made these for Christmas Eve dinner. My family went crazy over them. I left out the green pepper as somehow the pepper I bought at store didn't get home with me. Great with or without. Family says 5 STARS PLUS.

Bacon Cheddar Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2009
I fixed these for Christmas Eve dinner and will never fix them again. Personally I like my plain old smooth deviled eggs with mayo, mustard, salt. The bacon crumbles & cheese were a turnoff.

Pineapple Cheese Ball

Was so happy to see this cheese ball recipe. I made this exact cheese ball over 30 years ago (received from co-worker) several times, then misplaced recipe. Will be making it over the holidays. Thanks so much!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2009
Thought it was really tasty. Didn't change a thing. Cooked biscuits one hour. Very simple recipe. I've made a lot of dumplings over the year with flour, salt white pepper as we like them fluffy but with just 2 of us now, I find this much easier.

I made this a couple days ago and it was really delicious. I am always searching for salmon recipes and this is a keeper. There is nothing I would change about the recipe at all. Family truly enjoyed also!

Peanut Butter and Pumpkin Dog Treats

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2009
Thank you so much for this wonderful recipe. My daughter & g'daughters dogs as well as ours LOVE these treats, so much healthier for them that the type you buy in the store. I did use 1/2 cup peanut butter and used a full can of pure pumpkin, also added 1/2 cup of applesauce. These are a definite hit with my Chihuahua; she begs for them and ignores her Yip Yaps now.

Light and Fluffy Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2009
My family really enjoyed this quiche. I added a jar of artichoke hearts and fresh mushrooms plus chives. Very good! Addendum: 5/10/09: Making again today for a Mothers Day get together. I wanted to add that I mixed all ingredients together and did so again today (I did not layer). My granddaughter and daughter have also made this recipe and love it. I, too double the recipe using 3 (very full)deep dish pie crusts. YUM!

Corn Casserole I

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2009
I made this for New Years Day dinner at my granddaughters. Everyone there loved it. I discovered after it was about half way baked that I had left out the onions (still sitting on the bar)..it was great without the onions and my g'daughter was happy as she doesn't like onions anyway. I will be making this recipe for most family meals from here on, a definite hit with our many family members. Addendum: 5/10/09...making a double recipe again today and included the onions...my cousins, friends are all making this great recipe. I do add another 1/2 cup of extra sharp cheddar cheese, otherwise it is all the same. Best corn casserole ever!!!
