Great grammy with a love for cooking and family. I've tried about everything on my family at different times of the year...Love experimenting. Still working as a benefit counselor at age 72 after retiring twice LOL. Love my co-workers, love working!! Love camping at our local county park on beautiful Chickamauga Lake, any traveling with hubby.
My favorite things to cook
Jambalaya...mixture of Emerils and NY City firefighters...lots and lots of ingredients...Hubby thinks I pan fry crappies the best ever. I use Cajun seasoning on most all my meats as our family love it. I love lobster but rarely fix at home. My broccoli casserole, sweet potato casserole, cranberry salad stay on yearly request family status.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving with turkey and all the fixings...miss my midwestern oyster dressing as my Southern families are not in tune with it at all. Daughter makes the best cornbread dressing ever though.
My cooking triumphs
Since the 70s, broccoli casserole, sweet potato casserole, sour cream pound cake, repeat requests several times a year.
My cooking tragedies
None come to mind except beef stroganoff and I still don't like the taste of it and never will. Also, my Dad's family are Swedish and loved their lutefisk; I normally went to the other room when they cooked this stuff, phewww.
