Hershey's ® Hot Fudge Pudding Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2004
Just plain gross. I had to cook it for over an hour, and it was still runny in the middle. I've made these kinds of cakes before, and they never turned out like this.

Potpourri Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2004
I had to massively spice this recipe up to make it palatable... it was bland as is. I added some garlic, tarragon, whole pepper, red pepper flakes and beef bouillon, but I don't think I'll make this again.

Black Beans and Rice

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2004
I had to add a lot to make this palatable... diced tomatoes, lots of spices (green chilies, more cumin, thyme, salt, more coriander, chili powder, tarragon). It wasn't bad once I played with it, but as is I didn't find it very tasty. I also used brown rice, because I love it.

Cocoa Quickies

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2003
These did not work out at all. They becamse this hard bran-ish consistency. The taste wasn't bad, but it was more sugary than anything. I won't make them again.

Vietnamese-Style Chicken Curry Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2003
I cannot say enough good things about this recipe. It was simple, flavorful, filling! My friend and I ate the WHOLE batch in one sitting, except for a bowlful we were too stuffed to eat.. which turned into a pea-soup consistency the next day, and was even spicier. I thought it excelled the next day, however I'm not sure a batch will ever make it that long in my house. No lime leaves to be found here, but the flavor depth sure did not suffer. For more stewy consistency, just cook the potatoes longer, don't worry about decreasing the liquids.

Chili I

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2003
Absolutely the BEST chili I've ever made, and keeps very well. Lots of depth and flavors to it. I used a very, very dark beer, and Dutch processed cocoa and loved the flavour.

Deep Dark Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2003
I personally thought the cookies were a bit cocoa-y myself (and used Droste cocoa - Dutch processed and my favorite). However, my three male roomates and a man I'm dating absolutely LOVED them. Instead of chips, I cut up semi sweet chocolate squares, cause I like my chocolate bits chunky.
