Roasted Red Pepper and Tomato Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2003
The soup was ok. I was disappointed that the roasted red pepper flavour wasn't strong and hearty. I suggest using additional roasted peppers if you'd like a stronger flavor.

Midwestern House Salad Dressing

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2001
Whoa! Vinegar overload! I nearly fell over after tasting this dressing. I should have cut way back on the vinegar at the beginning, to maybe 1 tbsp. I managed to salvage this dip by adding about 3/4 milk and 1/4 sour cream. The vinegar and the worchestire sauce make this dressing very acidic, so I recommend gradually adding those for taste. In the end, it made a nice dressing for my spinach salad.

Jamie's Minestrone

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2001
I used this recipe as a base for my own minestrone soup. I omited some of the vegetables like spinach and zucchinni, and added brocolli, cauliflower, grated carrots, ground beef, etc. I also used dried herbs instead of fresh. This is a suberb recipe and one that is easily customizable! Great flavors no matter what you add to it!

Spaghetti Squash I

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2001
I had a spaghetti squash given to me and I found this recipe to try. I was disappointed with the taste, and I think it was because I found the squash to be bland. I think that this recipe could be applied to pasta as well as squash. I used olives in the recipe, but I didn't like the way they tasted with everything else.

A great teriyaki sauce. It doesn't get any easier than this! :)

Cherry Cobbler I

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2001
I was disappointed with this recipe. While it was easy to make, I found the taste bland and unappealing.

Honey Mustard Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2001
This recipe is very quick, easy and reduces servings well. I made the dip and served it 5 minutes later and it tasted great, so I don't think it is necessary to chill it for 2 hours. I will definately make this again! :)

Lemon Poppy Seed Muffins I

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2001
These muffins were very easy to make, and they taste great! I made mini-muffins (350 degrees for about 10 mins.) and they turned out perfect. I really like the extra lemon zest in the centre and I sifted icing sugar over the tops. Watch for the edges to turn brown, and they'll be done. (The tops don't turn brown that much.)

Orange Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: May 7, 2000
This icing is simple to make and tastes great on Carrot cookies or Carrot cake. The grated orange really comes through, so you may want to use less orange rind if you prefer. Good icing all round!
