Simple Baked Apples

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2011
Delicious!! I used organic sugar, omitted the flour(don't eat grains), left out the walnuts(had none), and used 2% milk. Everyone enjoyed it. The only problem I had with it was that it was too sweet for my tastes. No one else in my family thought so though. Next time I will either cut the sugar in half or just leave it out altogether and maybe use some honey instead. I will definitely make this again!! Loved it especially because after I omitted the flour it became the perfect grain-free treat. Thanks for sharing!!

This was very simple to make, and came out extremely moist!! I baked it in a 9x13 pan, but otherwise followed everything else exactly. I didn't actually try it myself, but it got great reviews from my family. They all loved it. Thanks for sharing!!

Honey Roasted Carrots

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2011
Mmmm.....I love roasted carrots!! This was really good, but the honey all seemed to stick to the bottom of the pan and you couldn't taste it very much. Next time I will make sure and add extra honey. Otherwise, perfect!! Thanks for sharing:)

Black-Eyed Pea Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2011
Wow!! So yummy!! I couldn't stop eating it!! I used a 16oz bag of dry beans and didn't measure anything else, just put it in. I also added some carrots. Mmmmm........ Next time I will probably add some extra balsamic vinegar. It gets better the longer you keep it in the fridge so make sure not to skip out on that step. Thank you for sharing, I will be making this ALOT!!

Oatmeal Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2011
These are good and very simple to make. Not the best cookie recipe in the world, but still a really yummy one. Things I changed were to use 1-1/2 cups brown sugar, 1/2 cup white, double vanilla, quick cooking oats vs. old-fashioned(next time will use old-fashioned), added a couple shakes of cinnamon, and a teaspoon of cream of tartar to give it that crinkly look. I made them and the best, big, fat, chewy cookies(or whatever they are called) and this recipe at the same time and this one received more votes:) But I have to say I'm still on the lookout for that perfect chocolate chip cookie recipe that is absolutely to die for. So if anyone finds it LET ME KNOW:)) Thanks for sharing this one thoug. My family enjoyed it!!

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2011
Good, but not ~WOW~.Its pretty much your basic chocolate chip cookie recipe, nothing special. Followed the recipe exactly as is, except we made them regular sized. I might make again if I needed a quick, easy, basic cookie. Guess I'll have to keep looking for that perfect recipe... Thanks for sharing:)

Pumpkin Crunch Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2011
MMM.....This is so good!!! We have been making it for like forever. It's perfect with a big dallop of cool whip and lots of drizzled caramel. The only thing we do different is to use cinnamon vs. pumpkin pie spice, and use 3 large eggs. Yummy, yummy, yummy!!! It's so easy to assemble and so, so good. Perfect for potlucks and family gatherings. Thanks for posting!!:)

Amy's Healthy Fruity

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2011
Yum!! This was very refreshing. I didn't add the soy powder, threw in some flaxseed, and used assorted frozen berries. Otherwise followed everything perfectly. The only change I would make next time is to add some honey because it was a tiny bit sour. Thanks for a great recipe!!

Arkansas Green Beans

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2011
Not really sure how to rate this since I didn't actually try it myself. The only thing I did different to the recipe was to use 100oz. of green beans instead of 75oz. Took it to a church potluck. My mom said that there was too much green beans to get the full effect of the flavor. She also said it was too sweet. I will have to make it again soon using the right amount of green beans for just my family and see what they think of it. Next time I will probably cut up the bacon and mix it throughout instead of just laying it on top in whole slices, and lessen the brown sugar by a little bit. This was definitely very easy to make and I'm sure it will be a yummy dish once I use all the right proportions.

Mock Tuna Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2011
WOW!! This was so yummy!! Just finished eating it for dinner. A great way to try chickpeas for the first time. I made it into a lettuce wrap with some tomato and red onion--perfect! I used plain yogurt in place of mayo, added some thai chiles, omitted the salt, and used dry chickpeas that I had cooked up instead of canned. Followed the recipe otherwise. You can pretty much do anything to it that you would normally do to tuna salad. Doesn't really taste like tuna but it definitely has the same consistency as tuna. Next time I will throw the chickpeas in my food processor instead of mashing. This was delicious, and I will keep chickpeas on hand all the time for a quick, yummy lunch. Thanks for sharing!!

Roasted Garlic Lemon Broccoli

I really enjoyed this, but when my mom took a bite she said, "Eww." Lol, but I still thought it was good. I added extra garlic and lemon and skipped out on the salt. Yummy, yummy!! Thanks for sharing:)

Quick Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2011
Wow, I never knew alfredo sauce could be so easy. The sauce my mom usually makes is very time consuming. This was very good and I would definitely use again, especially when I need something quick. I doubled the recipe and followed everything exactly, but I used part half&half and part milk. The sauce ended up SO thick!! I ended up adding like an extra 3 or 4 cups of milk, maybe more. Even after that my mom kept telling me I should add more milk. So I don't know what I did wrong there. It could be I just measured something wrong. Oh well, it still turned out great. Thanks for sharing!!

Heavenly Blueberry Smoothie

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2011
Yummy!! My dad and I had this for breakfast this morning and it was very filling. The changes I made were to use unsweetened soy milk, plain yogurt, and mixed berries. Oh, and I also threw in some spinach. The only thing I would do different next time is to add a little bit extra honey because I couldn't tell it was there. This one will definitely become part of our breakfast routine:) Thanks for sharing!!

This was a yummy and refreshing breakfast treat. I used soymilk vs. milk, plain yogurt vs. vanilla, and I added some flaxseed and spinach. My dad and I both thought it was very good. The only thing I would probably change next time(there will be a next time) is to add more strawberries. Thanks for this great recipe!!

Braised Balsamic Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2011
Yummy!! Made this for myself tonight and I greatly enjoyed it. I have to admit though that the onions were my favorite part:) So Good!! The only changes I made was to use fresh tomatoes and also I didn't have any rosemary or thyme. Next time I make it I will use fresh garlic, add extra onions, and make sure I have rosemary. It is better to cube the chicken or cut into strips in order for it to soak in the flavor so the middle part is not dry or tasteless. I ate with a side of green beans and roasted red potatoes. Delicious!! Will be making this again(soon). Thanks for sharing!! *UPDATE* ~ Double the onion, use fresh garlic and tomatoes, and add spinach and mushrooms. Awesome!!

Mommy's Banana Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2011
This recipe was good, but not great. I made it at the same time as the Banana Crumb Muffins from this site to compare them. Everyone agreed that the other recipe was alot better. These ones came out kind of dense and just didn't have as much flavor or sweetness. I didn't actually try either breads myself, but this was what I gathered from the reviews my family gave me. I probably would not make these again. Thanks anyways for the recipe.
