Cookie Press Shortbread

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2005
I found this a great tasting shortbread and nice to work with in a press. The only recommendation I would suggest, is to keep the dough on the cool side so it breaks off the press easier.

This is a must try. It is excellent and puts Applebee's oriental salad to shame!!!!

Breakfast in a Muffin

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2008
I made a few changes but I look forward to pulling them out of the freezer on rushed mornings. I substituted the bacon with sausage(spicy)and put it in the bottom batter as another suggested (Maybe 1/2 cup). I added chives, dill and a dried garlic/peppers mixture to the cheese topping. I would suggest smoothing the cheese mixture over the top rather than leaving it as a lump and contrary to another opinion, I find these to be a little on the sweet side which is what I like. Enjoy.

Crispy Baked Basa

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2004
Tasty, tasty sauce! My wife loved it, even without the melba crumbs. Must make a point of trying them next time.

Raisin Sour Cream Bars

Reviewed: May 11, 2005
I really liked these. They were great right out of the freezer. I would like to try with about 3/4 fo the amount of sugar though. I think these would also be wonderful with strawberries substituted for the raisins. YUM!!

Hot Artichoke and Spinach Dip II

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2004
This is a terrific recipe. I prefer using the pickled artichokes over the canned ones. It adds a flavor all its own. you will not regret trying this recipe!!

Bacon Cheddar Chive Muffins

Reviewed: May 13, 2007
My kids really enjoy these. Whenever my husband goes out of town and I become the single working mom getting 3 kids off to daycare/school, these are great!! Bake on Sunday, freeze and they last the week!! I put fresh chives in and 1/3 - 1/2 cup Hormels precooked bacon.

Crunch Drops

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2007
I only got to eat one of these before my family demolished them so I would have to say it is a keeper!! I think maybe butterscotch chips would be a nice change and it would keep with the pale color of the cookie.

Michelle's Soft Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2007
A pretty good cookie as far as sugar cookies go. My only recommendation is to experiment a bit with the flavorings and to put the cookies a good distance apart before cooking - they puff up a bit more than I am used to.

Baked Mushroom Rice

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2004
My family found this excellent. Changed a bit : can of chicken broth instead of veggie, 1 can of mushrooms instead of fresh and was more generous with the spices. I would like to try tarragon when served with poultry. Even had a 5 yr old friend over and she never even questioned it!!!!

Easy Indian Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2009
I found this quite tasty! I only used 1/2 cup of butter and instead of cream, I used regular milk and thickened it with cornstarch. I also used about 12 large roma tomoatos instead of the sauce because my house is overflowing with them at this time of year. I found the heat temperature just right - spicy but not painful:o)

Lemon Sauce for Salmon Patties

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2007
I halved this recipe and still found the amount more than adequate for 2 cups of salmon. I did double the lemon juice for an extra kick. This made the simple salmon patties a "real meal".

Salmon Patties I

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2007
I enjoyed this very much. I added about 1 tsp dill weed and 1 stalk celery. I didn't add the crumbs as I was trying to make it "low carb". This will become a regular meal in my house. And the lemon sauce from this site was also excellent.

Banana Muffins II

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2005
Very excellent! I used the suggestions of halfing the flour with outmeal and also added a very heaping tsp of cinnamon. A few chocolate chips were added for the kids but would be great without them as well. The few that I hid for myself were still supermoist at day 3.

Jumbo Fluffy Walnut Apple Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2004
These are great. Texture remained awesome even after substituting 1/4 applesauce for a 1/4 cup butter. I also left off the topping to cut out calories and left my apple chunks fairly large for extra moist muffins even the next day.
