Shrimp Lemon Pepper Linguini

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2006
This one is definitely a 5 star. My favorite meal. I use angel hair pasta and add onions and red pepper to the pan and saute a little before adding the broth mixture. Tehn when liquid is reduced I add the shrimp for a couple of minutes. Mix in the pasta and serve wtih parmesan cheese. Delicious. I do not add the butter at the end, too much fat and certainly not needed. Takes a good healthy meal and turns into a higher fat meal. I also double all my liquids.

Easy Mexican Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2006
This was a very good recipe. Very tasty. The only changes I made were to add Taco SEasoning to the ground beef while cooking and instead of tortilla chips (which I think would be gross when soggy) I used broad egg noodles in the bottom of the pan. I used more salsa as I had much more ground beef than called for. Definietly worth trying.

Easy Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2006
These were, surprisingly, really good. I am not a sugar cookie fan as I find them just too bland. But these were delicious. I frosted them with pink icing for Valentine's Day and they were delicious.

Fudge Truffle Cheesecake

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2005
Absolutley Awesome!!! I am not a big chocolate cheesecake fan usually (I like plain old New York Cheesecake)but I thought I'd try this for my honey's birthday!!WOW, decadently sinful!! Very smooth, creamy and rich, just like truffles. I would recommend using the crust recipe given for this as it is much better than just a chocolate cookie crumb crust. I also used a 10" springform pan. Came out flawless, not a crack to be found. I put a pan of water on the rack below the cheesecake and left in the oven for about an hour after I turned the oven off!! I also baked it two days in advance and kept in the fridge. Serve at room temp. though!! Definitly a keeper!!

Asiago Dip with Crostini

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2005
This recipe is DELICIOUS. I've made this a couple times now for different parties and it is always devoured!! I add a clove of minced garlic and a few shakes of tobasco to heat it up a little. I never measure the mushrooms, cheese or onions (I always add more). It is easy and I will make over and over.

Turkey Pot Pie I

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2004
This pie was very good. Very nice flavour. The only downside is the time it takes. I was all afternoon in the kitchen making this. It says PREP TIME 20 MINUTES, no way!!! I even made my pastry the night before. I made enough for 3 pies so my measurements were not accurate but pies turned out very tasty. The only change I made was the addition of a can of peas and some dried basil. I would definitely make this again but not for a while I hope!!!

Burgundy Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2004
This was delicious. I added mushrooms instead of celery and used mushroom gravy mix instead of brown gravy. It turned out very well and the sauce was excellent.

Refrigerator Cookies I

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2004
This was a great cookie, it had a really great taste and was a cinch to prepare. I sprinkled mine with red sugar and they were devoured in no time. One word of caution though, they DO NOT make 96 cookies. I only got 64 cookies out of my batch.

Garden Veggie Pizza Squares

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2004
Well now if it were just me tasting this I would give it two stars as I was not crazy about it. But I took this to a party and it was all gone so it couldn't have been that bad. Everyone said they liked it. I liked the flavour of the cream cheese with the dressing mix but I was not crazy about it spread on the crescent rolls. Maybe just as a dip I would like it better.

Cheeseburger Noodle Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2004
This was very good. I changed it a little as usual. I added chopped onions and mushrooms along with the soup mix. I also used a 28 oz. can of tomatoes. I sprinkled some cayenne pepper for a little kick too. Instead of cheddar I used mozzarella and fresh parmesan. I also used rotini instead of spaghetti. Very tasty.

This was a very good cake with the butter sauce. I was expecting more from all the reviews though. Don't know if I'd make again!

Greek Salad III

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2004
I think I just had the best lunch I ever had. I just made up this salad and it was delicious. I didn't measure the dressing ingreadients I kind of just poured them in and tasted as I went along and it turned out fabulous. I added a large clove of garlic and next time I think I might use a small one, it was a little strong and I don't think anyone will talk to me now for a week.

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2004
This recipe is awesome!! I grew zucchini in my garden this summer and now I have to do something with it. Well, I am glad I found this recipe. I decrease the oil by about 1/3 cup and put in one of those single serving size of applesauce. It is so moist and flavourful. Try it you'll agree!!!

Red Skinned Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2004
Best potato salad I ever ate. I made this for a large gathering and everyone loved it. I used half mayo and half extra tangy sour cream and to this I added about 1 - 2 tbsps. of dijon mustard and added a few shakes of cayenne pepper. Definitely a keeper!!

Very yummy. A little bit greasy though. I wonder if you could cut back on the butter a bit. Great recipe for a crowd.

Dirt Cake I

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2004
This was great.Presentation was excellent too. Everyone was impressed. Although I bought a fairly large terra cotta flower pot to make it in and I was afraid it would be way too big, but this cake makes so much it was almost full. I would suggest making this only when you have a large crowd as it is very rich and makes an awful lot. Also some of the reviews suggested omitting the butter with the cream cheese and I didn't because it was my first time making this cake and I didn't want to mess it up. But now after making this and knowing the results I think next time I would definitely leave it out as well as using low fat cream cheese and cool whip, etc.

Vanilla Glaze

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2004
This is good base recipe but does need some tweaking. I followed ATCGIRLY's advice and added 1 tbsp corn syrup and 1 tbsp butter as well as increasing the milk. It turned out quite nice after that but I think I still may have to add more milk.

Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2004
This was good. I used both pkgs of oatmeal in the bread as I knew my son wouldn't eat it if sprinkled on top. I didn't find it had much flavor though, probably won't make again.
