About this Cook
I've been in construction for 37 years. Recently divorced but cooked every meal for the family for 28 years. Love to try new recipes that just sound or look good.
My favorite things to cook
Just about anything. Like to cook healthy but also like to wander on the adventurous side.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cooking breakfast for everyone, especially my grandaughters. Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. Fall off the bone baby backs for my daughter.
My cooking triumphs
Lemon meringue pie, everything from scratch. I had to make 2 at a time because one would be gone by the next day. I couldn't make them fast enough.
My cooking tragedies
Lost recipe for lemon meringue pie from scratch.

Mashed Sweet Potatoes
Right now I'm giving it 3 stars. I haven't tried it out yet on the family. First time making it and it seems okay. I went with the brown sugar and honey bit (THEINGRAMS4 review) and added a little nutmeg. Twenty minutes was fine when slicing the tater in four chunks and I used 6 medium sized sweet potatoes and used a small hand whisk to whip them up.

Easy Caramelized Onion Pork Chops
Okay here goes. They were freaking awesome....I'm a pepper guy so I didn't use all of the salt they asked for but just enough to cover the chops and then pepper them. I removed the lid the second simmer but I think the 20 minutes was a bit to much. They were good but maybe a bitwell done. I'll experiment the next time with about 15 for the second simmer. I removed the onions and mixed some water with corn starch then into the water and juices and the gravy turned out terrific. Had that bit of peppery kick to it that I like. Definitely will make again. I give it 4 stars because I think everything needs a bit improving......enjoy.

Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken
Really not that great. You can barely taste the garlic and the honey flavor is non existent, chicken is tender though.
