FYI: I was out of butter--had just about 2 tablespoons. So I softened it and used it, but I used Canola oil for the rest of the 1 cup called for (an experiment! :)) I followed the rest exactly, and to my surprise and delight, these are still great! It made a flat, crispy cookie around the outside with a little chewy center (they've cooled about an hour now...). So good, but I love flat crispy cookies, not thick cakey ones. 11 minutes at 350. Hope your results are similar. I wonder if they would have more "buttery" flavor with the actual butter, but I'm very pleased and would make these again!
Notes: I doubled my baking pans to avoid burning the bottoms and used parchment paper. Perfect!
