My favorite things to cook
I love love love to cook and try all kinds of different foods. But if I had to choose, Southern cooking would be at the top.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Since I have such a young family, there aren't any traditions just yet.

Chinese Chicken Fried Rice II
I've made this a couple of times and could never quite tell what was missing until I came across a fried rice recipe on youtube. The missing flavor is garlic powder and sugar, i.e 2Tbs garlic and 1Tbs sugar (or more sugar if desired). Don't get me wrong, this is a very good recipe. I just like it more so with the added flavor. Also, I added a half cup of chopped carrots and celery. Hope this was helpful.

Apple Crisp II
I can't get enough! I have made this recipe so many times and just realized I've never rated it. The only thing I do differently is instead of sprinkling the cinnamon flour mix over the apples, I place the the apples in a bowl and just stir them until evenly coated. And I bake it at 375° for about 30 minutes or until the crisp is toasty brown. Again, thanks a million for a great recipe!! Oh, and if your crisp isn't crumbly as you are about to crumble it over the apples, just add a 1/4cup more oats. PERFECT!!!
