Ginger Glazed Mahi Mahi

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2014
the glaze was too heavy/strong for my taste. I think my two filets were more like 4 oz, and I overcooked them, then carried the "burnt" flavor into the glaze. Will try again. My daughter, who doesn't like fish usually, liked this. Said it tasted like chicken. For that reason alone, it's a keeper! :> Hubby and I like our fish a little more delicate. I think the marinade would be perfect for salmon. Served with brown rice & broccoli.

Grandmother's Pound Cake I

Reviewed: May 4, 2011
Needed to make a trifle. This recipe is quick, easy, can be made mostly with ingredients I keep in stock, and offered a delicious inexpensive alternative to the expensive store-bought, frozen pound cake.

Resurrection Rolls

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2007
I found this recipe years ago and have been making them with my nieces, and then with my own kids every Easter ever since. A big family favorite. The kids always look forward to making them together just before the rest of the meal is ready. As we do, we talk about taking sinless Jesus (marshmallow), anointing Him in oils (butter) and incense (cinnamon), wrapping Him in the shroud (crescent roll), and then placing Him in the tomb (oven). We always make at least two batches and they go fast. It's so fun to see everyone open their "empty tombs" at the table. My advice: 1. don't skimp on the crescent rolls -- use the name brand. They really do hold up better; 2. Keep the crescents refrigerated till needed; 3. Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes; 4. Don't worry about the leakage - they're just as good messy! Just use a stoneware baker with shallow sides or a jelly roll pan with a parchment paper liner; 5. When you serve, don't use napkins or doilies -- they can be very sticky.

Broccoli with Lemon Butter Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2006
Simple and excellent. I had a large lemon, so only used half of its juice - which was a good decision. It was a perfect balance of flavors. A new favorite (except with my 8 y.o. daughter who likes broccoli plain).

Cookie Mix in a Jar III

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2003
YUMMY! I gave these to all my friends, including the office. Big hit. I used dried cranberries and made each jar individually. Ran out of cranberries on the last two and used chocolate chips instead. Works fine if you follow Lisa's order (cranberries or chips after flour). QUESTION: Has anybody tried mixing together a bunch of the flour mixture to save doing that step each time? Do you then still measure just one cup?
