About this Cook
I work to support my cooking habit. I love to cook, and would spend my days in the kitchen if I could! I love trying new recipes and challenging my culinary skills, but most of the time it comes down to throwing together a meal with whatever I can find around the kitchen.
My cooking triumphs
Thanksgiving 2012: Work kept us from family, so the mister and I had our own meal. My first attempt at a whole stuffed turkey turned out marvelously (if i say so myself!). There was crispy skin, juicy meat, and best of all, no food poisoning! (side note: this is a thanksgiving many years after the disasters listed below)
My cooking tragedies
I added far too much black pepper to the green bean casserole for Thanksgiving. How much? Like no one would eat it, too much. Couple that with the time I made pumpkin pie with a graham cracker crust, or pumpkin cinnamon rolls that failed to rise (they were rocks), and it's a wonder I'm invited to Thanksgiving at all! :)

Indian Chicken Curry II
Like others have mentioned, a very good starter recipe, especially for newcomers to Indian cooking. The sauce gets more flavorful and rich the longer it simmers - i let mine go upwards of 45 minutes, and it was divine. I made quite a few changes to the recipe, which is why I'm only giving 4 stars. (add more curry powder, garam masala, veggies, lay off the lemon juice a bit, etc.)

Sweet Restaurant Slaw
Leave out the poppy seeds - they aren't that pretty, and no one cares what this cole slaw looks like, because it's devoured so quickly! This slaw is sweet, yet tangy (add extra vinegar or onion to up the "tang" factor). I've yet to find anyone that doesn't like this recipe. It tastes like a better version of KFC. This has quickly become my go-to recipe for an easy, crowd-pleasing potluck/picnic/etc. dish.

Easy Decadent Truffles
Eh, they were okay at best. I was so excited to make these as Christmas party treats, but the finished product was just lacking something. Don't get me wrong, they were good, but not great.
