Seven-Up™ Pound Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2005
This was not very good. I admit I cheated and used half margarine because I didn't want to use up all my butter. I was pretty nervous when a layer of grease formed and boiled around the edges. Also it was very heavy and dense. It also didn't have much flavor other that grease despite the large amount of vanilla I dumped in.

Creamy Potato Pork Chop Bake

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2005
This was good. I doubled the potatoe mixture and used 4 pork steaks. I was a little nervous with all the gravy that formed on the top. I thought the potaoes were going to be too runny but they weren't too bad. I think next time I will used cubed hashbrowns instead of shredded. I also seasoned the pork with onion and garlic powder. Husband said it was good so I will try it again.

Bacon Wrapped Hamburgers

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2005
Excellent. Just got done eating these and they were so good. I doubled the recipe and ended up using a lb more of hamburger as they seemed too mushy. I have more hamburger mix left so I'm going to pan fry them tommorow. I used seasoned and garlic salt + a little garlic powder. I was nervous they were going to fall through the grate so I froze them while the grill was burning and didn't have any trouble with them. They taste like grilled meatloaf with smokey bacon.

Apple Oatmeal Crisp

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2005
Excellent. I use honeygold and haralson apples from our trees. I will make a double batch next time. I've been looking for a really good crisp that's crispy and not soggy, this was perfect. The only crisp I make now.

Sophie's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2005
Yummy bread. Followed the recipe exactly. Ungreased pans? I have made this twice now lightly spraying or greasing nonstick pans and still have a tough time getting them out. I definatly recommend greasing. I used 9 in pans for big loaves. Give it a try.

Oven Fried Chicken III

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2005
Really Good. I use just enough mayonaise to lightly coat the chicken. I don't measure the mayo but I know it's way less than a cup. I add extra seasons to the bread crumb mix such as onion powder & italian season. The chicken really does come out tender. It has been known to fall off the bone.

Kraft's Coconut Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2005
Yummy. The sugar/milk mixture tastes like sweetened condensed milk. Easy to prepare. I didn't wait the 6 hrs to serve. I served after 30 mins and it still was great. The kids loved it too.

Excellent. I have made this a couple of times now. The cinnamon sugar mixture is so good. I only use about half cup but I think I will use a little more next time. Delicious, easy and moist. Kids love it too.

Freak'n Good Ribs

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2005
Really Delicious! I marinated for about 22 hrs and they were so tender the bones fell off on the grill. I made the marinade exactly except used 5 lbs of spareribs and the marinade was plenty. They weren't tender even after 2 hrs of baking so I turned the temp to 350 for another 1 hr. I used Sweet Ray's honey BBQ which made me a little nervous as I sampled it and didn't like it, so I mixed it with a little of the marinade and it was good. Even the kids liked it. When the hubby takes a bite and says mmmm good it's gotta be a keeper! Thanks Mike!

Shrimp Burritos

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2005
Really Good. Not as time consuming as it looks. While the rice is cooking you can prepare the other ingredients. The only thing that confuses me is the tomatoes. Are they drained or undrained? I drain them a little bit. Also I have made a few little changes. I add a spoon of canned chopped green chiles to the rice, Used homemade refried beans, raw shrimp fried in a little oil with the garlic. Also I don't use the salsa. The sauce makes it the best. Thanks for sharing ShackL

The Whole Jar of Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2005
Extremely Delicious. Very easy. I used Jif chunky peanut butter and left out the nuts as I didn't have any. Definatley needs to chill for the 2 hrs or it's sticky. I dipped the fork in sugar as I flattened them. They are chewy if slightly underbaked, 11 mins worked perfect for me.

Easy Mexican Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2005
Not to bad. I browned the hamburger with some taco seasoning. I also put the tortilla chips on the top instead of the bottom out of fear they would get soggy. Didn't bake it with the tomatos instead topped it with tomatoes, lettuce and extra s. cream. Kids commented it tastes like chili.

Ultimate Twice Baked Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2005
Excellent. I used potato topper instead of regular sour cream and left out the green onions. Not very hard to make. Might have to bake potatoes a little longer. Big hit with the kids also. Make lots they are even better left over.

Crayfish or Shrimp Pasta

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2004
This is really good and simple. I've been making it for a while now. I add a little salt if I use saltless Cajun. Definatley needs less Cajun if it has salt in it. Kids like it as well.
