Apple Banana Cupcakes

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2006
Delicious. Moist and tasty. The apples disapeared after baking so next time I think I wil finely dice some of the apples along with shredding. I only had maybe 3/4 cup banana and they still came out yummy. I did the homemade buttermilk substitution from the advice section of Allrecipes as well. Will make again soon.

Yummy Apple Pound Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2006
What went wrong. There is so much oil it soaked through a napkin and when I push on the cake is runs out. Has a very bland flavor and the apples are mush despite I cut them then kinda big.

Garlic Cheddar Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2006
This had a really good flavor. They did not get crispy on their own. I had to transfer them to a cookie sheet, turn the oven up to 400* and bake them on the bottom rack for 5 mins to get them to crispen up on the bottom. I also put more cheese on at the end because the cheese gets very crispy when baked and I wanted a more gooey cheese flavor. Served with fresh boiled broccoli and cheese sauce. Overall a good recipe.

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2006
Loved it. I tripled it for 2 adults and 3 kids. There's enough leftovers for everyone. I used 2 golden mushroom's and 1 regular cream of mushroom(it's a little cheaper). I added a boullion cube to the water also. I also used sirloin steak because it was on sale. There was way more gravy than meat so I will add more meat next time. I had to let the cream cheese sit for about 15 mins to melt in the gravy because it looked lumpy. Overall a very easy recipe because you don't need to pre-cook the meat.

Pork Chops and Scalloped Potatoes

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2006
I have made this recipe many times and love it. I make it with pork steaks instead of chops. I also cut way back on the salt and add chicken boullion granuals to the gravy. I also season the steaks with garlic and onion powder and pepper. I also make extra gravy, usually double and don't use all of it and I pour some on top of the steaks as well. I do not uncover as this only dries them out.

Blueberry Coffee Cake I

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2006
I thought this was really yummy. I did make a few changes as other reviewers suggested. I used a little more than 1/2 cup milk, maybe 3/4, also an extra egg. I also halved the struesel and filled up the bottom of the pan with it. I still had a little struesel left over so I sprinkled it on top. I found the struesel to be moist not crumbly so I added a litle extra flour and it came out perfect. After I baked it and went to remove it from the pan, to my horror I remembered I forgot to grease it. It came out like a mess but the flavor made up for that.

Maple Glazed Ribs

Very yummy and easy. Used spare ribs instead. Could have been a little more tender but that could of been the cut of meat I used. Very sweet but good.

Aunt Johnnie's Pound Cake

Reviewed: May 3, 2006
I have made this twice. Both times the cake stuck to the pan causing it to rip. My mother has also made this for easter with the same problem. We've greased and floured the pan as directed. Flavor is pretty good. I just wish it didn't take me 5 mins to get out of the pan and have it be broken.

Heavenly Potatoes and Ham

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2006
This was good. I scaled the recipe to half and used a full can of soup and just added more ham. It filled a 9x13 pan really full. I cut the potatoes a little smaller. I found it to be a bit on the salty side even though I didn't add any salt. I used Ritz crackers mixed w/ melted butter for the topping. Was even better as leftovers even though the topping was mushy. Will make again.

this bread was great. Made some without cheese too and it was still great. Won't be buying the frozen stuff anymore.

Spinach Cheese Manicotti

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2006
Not bad. Too much spinach. The filling was kind of dry and tasted like to much spinach. Will try again with less spinach and no spinach for the kids. Easy to stuff if you use a butter knife. Had to cook a little longer and added cheese last 15 mins.

Down Home Macaroni and Cheese

Will not make again. I ended up with the grittyness also. I stired the flour milk mix plenty. Not a bad taste just hard to eat with an icky texture.

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2006
This was very good. I tasted the sauce before baking and was terrified. But after baking with the chicken it was great. I doubled the sauce and added an extra clove of garlic. The sauce was way too much and I ended up only using maybe half. Also used a bit less sugar and used a big squeeze of honey. Served the sauce over white rice. The kids said it was awsome and it "rocked". Next time I'm going to try marinating the chicken as it didn't have much terriyaki flavor inside the chicken.

Diane's Colcannon

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2006
Very good. I used a lot more bacon than called for. I also mashed in some butter in addition to pouring on top. I was surprised my kids ate so much and said it was awsome. Served with corned beef on St Patrick's day.

Seafood Enchiladas

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2006
Delicious. I don't usually tweak my recipes but I did after reading reviews on this one. To the shrimp I added garlic and a little cumin. The sauce needed help so I added a can of drained diced green chilies, cumin, chipotle pepper powder & cilantro instead of the parsley. I used less sauce because it was so runny and just drained out the green chilies that sunk to the bottom of the pot. Used lots of cheese on top as this seems to help thicken the sauce while cooking. Also no crab all shrimp. Very easy.

Asian Pork Tenderloin

Didn't care for this. Taste of the sesame oil is overpowering. Husband ate it but not sure if he liked it either. I had a bad feeling about this when I tasted the marinade before marinading. made me feel really icky and sick. Sorry

Dee's Roast Pork for Tacos

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2005
Yummy. I used only 1 can of chiles and half the chile powder as I didn't want it to be spicy for the kids. I noticed no where in the directions does it say what to do with the chiles so I just mixed it in with all the other ingredients. When it was cooked I shredded it and added the pan juices. I used it to fill flour tortillas with taco toppings. My husband used corn tortillas and topped with cilantro & onions. Tasty & so easy.

Buffalo Style Chicken Pizza

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2005
Excellent. I used bottled Hidden Valley Ranch and it was so good and easy. I could not find any kind of 16 in. crust in the store, so I used Betty Crocker crust mix in a pouch. I pre baked the crust for 5 mins at 450 then added the toppings and baked for another 8-10 mins until it was golden brown. I used far less ranch. I think the dressing must be a typo. Will definatley make it again.
