Sourdough Starter I

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2009
One of the easiest sourdough starters to get going and keep going. Takes 3-4 batches of bread to really develop deep favor but then there's no stopping it. Makes wonderful bread and rolls which are even better the next day toasted for breakfast.

Nutty Sugar Crisps

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2008
This recipes is from the Taste of Home cookie contest- easy to make, easier to eat, crisp, tender, melt in your mouth taste. I did modify the recipe a bit, used 1/2 cup unsalted butter, 1/2 cup butter flavor shortening, and reduced granulated sugar to 2/3 cup for an extra crispy, less sweet cookie. Wonderful with a cup of coffee or tea!

Barbara's Golden Pound Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2005
Good old fashioned pound cake - I used some buttermilk and added a couple extra eggs cause I had them handy. Came out great. Makes a dense, moist cake. Glaze was not needed. Serve with whipped topping mixed with your favorite yogurt and some fresh sliced fruit for a grand dessert.

Super Easy Fruit Dip

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2005
WOW! I used raspberry yogurt for a fruit tray, then tried peach with some fresh peach slices for a pound cake and received great reviews. Everyone loved it with no leftovers. Quick, easy, cheap and you can use low fat topping and no fat yogurt to reduce your guilt! I added a little vanilla extract for the fruit and almond for the cake, made it even better.
