This was just so-so for us, a bit bland I thought (I made as written). There wasn't much cake throughout the apples, which was ok but the cake was, as I said, bland. My least favorite part was the crust that formed on the outside of the cake- not a tasty crust, but a super crispy-like shell. I noticed in the pictures that some cakes had this and some did not, so not sure why it develops on some. It did soften the next day, however. I probably won't make this again.
