Basil Chicken and Pasta

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2012
This was good, but I wouldn't give it near 5 stars like some, save the five star ratings for the 'blow your mind' recipes!! Anyway, the family ate it, said it was pretty good....do double the sauce, at the very least! I think fresh basil would help this dish tremendously.

Jambalaya Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2012
I made this pretty much as stated, and I thought it pretty bland. It would need a lot of modifications for me to make it again and like it, but I like to rate a recipe the first time based on the actual ingredients/instructions.

Angela's Awesome Enchiladas

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2012
I've been making these for a few years now and they are by far the best enchiladas ever! One of my favorite recipes from this site, I've tried different types of enchilada sauce and haven't had one that I didn't like...def. give these a try!

Cheesy Ranch Potato Bake

Reviewed: May 2, 2012
I've made this twice, the first time cutting butter down greatly and we couldn't get enough of it. I made it again with all cheddar cheese (all i had) and still cut the butter down...it was totally different than the first time. Not sure if it was the cheddar or if I didn't cut the butter down enough, but it was horrible. Grease was pouring out of the sides and pooled on top....it was soggy with grease!! And totally inedible. So....cut butter down (or emit!), use right kinda cheese.....and, I would allow yourself a little extra time and cut potatoes a little bigger. I think it does more for the taste and maybe helps soak up some of that butter! but your bake time will increase!

These are really good, love the texture but I will add more vanilla and maybe a dash of salt, missing a hint of flavor...thank you!

Burrito Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2012
We loved this! Took advice of others and sprinkled taco seasoning on the meat and spread the beans on the tortillas. I put a double layer of tortillas in the middle layer. Make sure your layers of meat are thin so you have enough on top! Ours wasn't spicy at all, this is easily controlled by the heat of the taco sauce and Rotel that you use, etc...yummy ( :

Cinnamon Coffee Cake II

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2012
The best on the site, in my opinion! I've tried several other recipes here and this has remained our family's favorite! You can sub for the butterscotch pudding if you can't find it, but it DOES taste better with it, richer and darker? ( : VERY TASTY!!!

No Bake Peanut Butter Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2012
Yes, this is truly yummy. I was afraid it would be rock hard but it keeps a nice texture and is best as cold as you can get it! Tastes like peanut butter ice cream...I also used an Oreo piecrust!

The Best Potato Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2012
I found my last potato salad recipe!!!!! I love this, I will add more mustard next time for personal preference but tasted amazing with what the recipe called for. I also only had sweet relish and lite mayo on hand and I wouldn't change a thing next time! And I agree with others, the next day it is best, two days even better, so try to make it beforehand if possible.

Hawaiian Chicken Kabobs

This has been my go-to marinade for the summer, and my whole family loves it! Like many others I subbed rice vinegar for the sherry. I like it best when I did chicken on a stick!

Strawberry Oatmeal Breakfast Smoothie

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2012
this was between a 3-4 star for me, the flavor was good but I think pulsing the oats FIRST is a must, otherwise you'll have bits of rolled oats overpowering the texture. I used 2% milk and about a cup and a half of frozen sliced strawberries. Also a small handful of blueberries. Healthy and not bad, just a little chalky!

German Apple Cake I

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2012
This was just so-so for us, a bit bland I thought (I made as written). There wasn't much cake throughout the apples, which was ok but the cake was, as I said, bland. My least favorite part was the crust that formed on the outside of the cake- not a tasty crust, but a super crispy-like shell. I noticed in the pictures that some cakes had this and some did not, so not sure why it develops on some. It did soften the next day, however. I probably won't make this again.

Best Toffee Ever - Super Easy

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2012
I made the mistake of cutting this recipe in half just in case....horrible mistake because it was eaten in a day and I am now craving more!! I never knew toffee was so easy, but when I went to a holiday bazaar here in Germany and saw the price of jars filled with home made toffee, I decided to come home and search for recipes. This is as good if not better! If you like Skor and Heath bars, than you'll love love love this tofee!! I didn't have a problem with separating of the butter, I did use heavy, deep pan though (it says to in the directions!) Try this!!!

Pesto Chicken Florentine

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2013
We LOVED this dish, my kids, husband and all. I gave four stars instead of five because I think you really need to take advice of others such as: double spinach; season chicken first (mrs. dash!); jarred sauce is fine (seriously, a mix? never heard of it!); more pasta so not so "saucy"...and I used parm on top instead of Romano...anyway, same recipe, but with these changes definite 5+++ stars for taste and being so easy to prepare!!

Penne with Chicken and Asparagus

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2013
Not too bad, but as written would be bland, you really need to season your chicken! I always use a Mrs. Dash blend on mine. With that, pretty good.

Vegetarian Chickpea Sandwich Filling

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2014
If you like chicken salad, then you'll like this! I used greek yogurt because that's all I had, and it worked great and even healthier! I did use much more than one tablespoon though. Also added a squirt of mustard for a little more flavor. My husband didn't like it as much as I did, but he's a big meat-lover. Best part is, it's soooo filling! I'd definitely make again!
