About this Cook
Graduate student, living on my own with my boyfriend for about a year now, and trying to live up to my dad's amazing home cooking!
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake and try out creative new dessert recipes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Pizza! My dad has been making the best home-made pizza since I was in grammar school, and he is famous for it among my family and close friends. He is also infamous for waking us all up early on a Sunday morning with a huge breakfast, usually a bacon and egg omelet on a hard roll or pancakes.
My cooking triumphs
I make some pretty mean oven-fried chicken.
My cooking tragedies
I'm always setting the fire alarm off in our apartment, but it's rarely because of burning food! Also, I once made a chicken and dumplings dish, which looked absolutely delicious in the picture, but didn't stir it enough while it was cooking covered and the whole thing burned at the bottom and stuck to the pan :(

Reindeer Poop
I made this candy for Christmas Eve and it was a big hit with my family. It tastes just like a Mr. Goodbar. It was very easy to prepare as you literally just throw everything into the crock pot and leave it for a couple hours. But be aware that this recipe makes A LOT of candy! I had two heaping plates full to bring with me at Christmas. Luckily everyone wanted to take some home.

One Bowl Chocolate Fudge
This fudge turned out SO well! It literally took five minutes to make and then you just stick it in the fridge and forget about it for a few hours. Will definitely be making this again.

Light and Fluffy Spinach Quiche
This quiche came out fabulous and was a big hit at Christmas. I skipped the onion and just added a little onion powder in for flavor. I definitely did NOT use a whole package of spinach either - about half the package was more than enough. It turned out great and was even better for breakfast!
