Strawberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2014
I added the vanilla and cut down the flour just slightly. Delish!

Corn and Crab Bisque

Reviewed: May 8, 2013
This was awesome! I threw in a chopped cooked potato and celery to make it more hearty. I also used all skim milk instead of the half and half, to cut calories and it was still very thick. This recipe is a keeper!

Chicken French - Rochester, NY Style

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2013
As a Rochester, NY native, I have to say this was perfect! It's my favorite dish to order at restaurants and I have not been able to replicate it...until now! It took about an hour to make and I doubled the sauce, as others suggested. I also added a bit more lemon juice to taste. I "frenched up" some frozen broccoli along with it and served it over thin spaghetti. Whole family at it up! Thank you!

Cowboy Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2012
I followed the recipe exactly and they came out great! My husband ate 8 of them before I turned the oven off! This also made a great sized batch-plenty of cookies to go around! I willuse this recipe again, for sure!

Mini Meatloaves

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2012
I followed the recipe and added some chopped onions as many users suggested. This was very mediocre...I don't get what the excitement is with this recipe.

Gobble Up Granola Snacks

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2012
The other reviewers are correct, this is really easy, adjustable and yummy! I made some substitutions in direction 1, due to lack of ingredients (chocolate chips for raisins and peanut butter puff cereal for crispy rice), but kept the heated "glue" ingredients the same. It was awesome and my husband woofed down a whole row as soon as he spotted them. Keeper recipe!

Bacon Ranch Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2012
this recipe was a nice alternative to classic mac salad. I just had to substitute some sour cream because I ran out of mayo, but it was just fine that way. yum!

Lasagna Alfredo Roll Ups

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2012
I used lasagna sheets-instead of noodles and they were super quick to roll! I sliced them in half after baking them as directed. These were delicious and pretty easy! I did 8oz spinach and 2 ounces chopped broccoli. My husband still suggested using less spinach and that we add ground sausage meat next time. Might give it a try!

Favorite Banana Blueberry Quick Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2012
Not that spectacular, really. I used applesauce instead of shortening, as others suggested, and the edges were rubbery. I did not need any extra cook time, as 55 mins at 350 was almost too long for the loaf- I removed it right from the pan so it would not continue to cook the extra 10 minutes suggested. I was disappointed, definitely have had better.

Raspberry Sour Cream Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2012
Delicious! Not the prettiest pie, but a very tasty blend of flavors. I followed the recipe and just omitted nuts, because I didn't have any. As other bakers noted, the filling did not completely fill the 9inch shell, but after the topping was on, it was fine-just not overflowing.

Terri's Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2012
This was super easy and my husband and kids loved it! I actually forgot the sugar, but it was still very sweet without it. I added a little water to it (about 1/2 c.), too, just to stretch it out a little further and that made no difference.

Broccoli Fish Bake

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2012
easy, family loved it. I used condensed broccoli cheddar soup since that's all I had and it worked just fine. I served this over instant white rice and it was perfect!

Karyn's Cream of Crab Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2012
Oh my goodness! This was delicious! My husband asked if I was trying to kill him as he watched the half-and-half and cream go in the pot...but he (and my 8 and 1 year olds) loved the "broth". I used shrimp this time, as another user suggested, but will try the crab and maybe some additional seafood bits next time. My family also decided that this might taste good over rice or pasta, due to its creamy texture. Totally a keeper recipe! Thank you!

Ketchup Dip

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2012
eh...I whooped this together after realizing our store bought dip had gone bad. It was very simple and quick, but my husband described it as "bland". It did the job for dipping chips, but needs something to give it a kick...?

Something Special Apple Crisp

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2012
I am really surprised this was a 5 star recipe. It tasted fine, was not bad, but I have definitely made better. It did reheat in the over well for a later eating. I'd call it mediocre and will not make it again.

Cajun Crab Cakes (No Breadcrumbs)

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2012
This was really yummy, even my 8 year old ate it (with some ketsup, of course). It looked like a lot of work with all of the ingredients, but it was actually very quick and easy to make up. This is a great weeknight recipe. Next time I will double the recipe (because we had JUST enough and no leftovers for 2 1/2 of us)and I will spice it up a bit (not enough kick).

Barb's Broccoli-Cauliflower Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2012
Excellent salad! I omitted the sunflower seed because I did not have them on hand. I took another reviewers suggestion and sprinkled in curry powder for some amazing flavor kick! I also put in a dash of garlic salt and black pepper to counter the sweet dressing. Will definitely make this again!
